My Xbox 360 s seems to be stuck within an update and connection error loop! Please help me!

Hello everyone.

I'm not sure if this is the exact section to post this under, but I'm gonna give it a go. Ok so here's my problem. I have owned an Xbox 360 s since 2010. It has been an amazing machine and I didn't run into any sort of problems with it until recently.
I have taken very good care of it and it still seems to run pretty smoothly. My warranty ran out on it all the way back in 2012 so there's really not much else i can do here for support.

The problem I'm experiencing is kinda odd. I haven't found anything else that resembles my problem exactly. So, a few week back I decided I was going to play some of my games. I hopped on the console and started it up. Shortly after starting it up,
the game i had placed within the console told me that it needed an update to continue. Naturally i said yes and waited for it to finish. Only thing was, it never really ended up finishing! Shortly after, my xbox popped up with a message telling me that my
xbox didn't have enough space and that i needed to restart the console. So I restarted and I went into the storage so I could delete older files that might have been taking up space. I started to notice that there were multiple files that had the "Corruption"
notification next to it. I deleted the corrupt files and tried to play my game once again. But this time the xbox system popped up again and told me I actually needed to download an update for xbox live as well. After I selected "yes" the download went half-way
and then told me i needed to shut down my console and restart. So I once again found myself restarting my entire console.

Well it just got weirder from there. I continuously tried to download the update and was continuously being told to restart my console. After about the 7th or 8th time of restarting my console something extremely weird took place. My system came online,
but now i didn't have any update prompt. Also, almost everything within my system was GONE! The background i had selected was reset to default and all the profiles were now marked as "corrupt" (I might also add that at this point, any game files and add-ons
i had installed/played had somehow completely dissipated). So i was forced to delete my profile with the knowledge that i could re-download it in the future. Sadly that time has yet to come. After that, whenever i started up my console i was met with the xbox
intro screen, but it would just sit there and wouldn't progress to the main interface. I ended up looking up solutions and found that removing the 4gb default memory may fix the problem, and in some ways it did. I opened up my console and removed the default
hard drive (I have already ordered a new one). Doing that helped with bypassing the frozen intro screen but i am now faced with yet another problem. My current issue at hand is this: My xbox is once again asking for an update for the system (I have inserted
a USB flash stick as of right now to serve as the main memory until my hard drive shows up) and whenever i select "yes" to the update my console can't do it. It can't do it because apparently i do not have a working internet connection. But whenever i try
to connect to the internet i get a notification that i can't link to xbox live because it needs and update!

So i'm trapped in a ridiculous loop now. My xbox needs an update, it can't update because it needs a valid internet connection (which i have tested over and over and is in working condition 100%), but the internet connection cannot connect properly
BECAUSE it needs the xbox live update, which takes me right back to the internet connection. I hope someone can provide me with a little assistance at this point. Do i need to completely scrap my xbox? What am i going to do with my new hard drive? Will the
hard drive fix my problems? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Xbox one crashed after update in preview program

my Xbox is stuck in a update loop!

I'm in preview program so would guess its the new dash board update, I don't have access to the preview forum and don't seem to be able to get the required permission any help would be great as my Xbox is currently a brick

 

Go to your system then storage and click clear cache then retry the download and for your connection issue unplug your router for 10mins and plug it back in

Do you have any other items plugged into your system? Via USB etc like other hard drives? These, if failing can cause major issues. Getting a new hard drive is a good choice.

You may be able to get an adapter for the removed HDD to connect to a computer to see if any files can be salvaged.

Clearing the cache properly may assist but is no guarantee. it is useful when a download or update fails. the fail is caused by minor drop outs and the like but prevent the download ever being done properly. Here are some instructions, I hope they help.

1. Remove profile - SETTINGS page (far right from home page), select STORAGE, then find your profile and remove.

2. While in your hard drive under GAMES & APPS look for any red or yellow icons with incomplete or unknown. Delete them. (This may include the game you are trying to fix)

3. Clear System Cache - SETTINGS page, select STORAGE and highlight a drive but don't select it. Press Y and select Clear System Cache. Agree when asked.

4. Be Patient - turn your console off for a full minute. This assists in resetting the console.

5. Turn on the console and download your profile - it is the icon next to 'create a profile'.

Try again.
