    My Xbox 360 s disk drive is making very loud noises


    I got my xbox 360 s about a year ago and when ever I run a game disk it doesn't recognize it and when it does work it makes loud screeching and revving noises. Some times it stops for about 10 minutes and then starts again. This is a used console
    and I don't know If still it has a warranty. I really don't want to open it up because I'm afraid of damaging something. If anyone knows what's going on or has any ideas please reply. Thank you

    dvd drive on slim loud?

    Hi I have the new Xbox 360 S console recently purchased about a month ago and my Xbox 360's DVD drive gets very loud only on certain games. The Forza 4 disc and Halo 3 Platinum Hits disk makes the disk drive very loud, but when I put in Halo 4 it's a normal
    volume. When it gets really loud it almost sounds like it's vibrating a lot. I even installed Forza 4 to the hard drive and when I first start it up it's still pretty loud. It only subsides after briefly playing. Is this normal for certain games to make
    the disk drive spin louder or is something wrong with my disk drive? Or maybe my disks are scratched?

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are having issues with disk drive on the 360. Unfortunately, if you owned it for a year and is used it most likely is out of warranty. We now longer repair 360 either. You can check on

    device support     for warranty.

    'Fizzing' Sound Coming From Back Of Console

    I am having same sound by the way you are explaining it. Mine is with the Disk Drive tho. Its lot loud but very annoying. When the disk isn't being read the noise goes away but when it is...the noise is back...hope I dont go through 7 of these systems like
    I did with the 360...cause so far I am REALLY impressed by the things Xbox One can do.

    Same problem. Got my xbox one yesterday. Put in COD and the disk drive makes very loud noise but reads and does not fail. I can play a DVD and it is quieter but still louder than what would be considered normal. This is an issue and if you have the same
    problem you should get your xbox one replaced at no charge.
