My xbox 360 Elite is so laggy with online-required games, I have tried everything i know! ...

So currently I am having to play on my old Xbox 360 elite, due to my slim getting the RROD and it is being repaired ATM. But anyways for the past couple of days, I have gotten on some online-requiring games, and it has lagged unbearably! I rage... But I
try trouble shooting... I try unplugging my wireless network adapter that the xbox required and adjusting it also... Nothing. I try clearing the system cashe, it does help with the lag @ the dashboard but didn't help with my online gaming lagg... I try turning
on and off my comcast router... I even try to forget my wifi on my xbox and reconnect to it... It seems nothing has worked, and I'm torn! Idk if its an xbox problem or a problem with my internet... Cuz that xbox i currently have to play on right now isn't
the best or newest and also my internet can also have its spikes at times! Anyways plz help and any advice will b greatly appreciated!

No, not really. What the adapter does is tell the 360 that video is over HDMI and to provide audio out over the AV port. The audio signal is still present on the HDMI port.



Since you have a 360 S, you have an optical audio out on the console. Pick up a

digital to analog audio converter and whatever extra cables you may need (stereo RCA plug to mini-plug or mini-jack, TOSLINK) to take audio from the optical out and convert it to left/right stereo output.

I have tried multiple audio adapters, and the original VGA plug in an attempt to get audio while using HDMI because my monitor does not have built in speakers. I have the Xbox Slim and I have seen countless people use the VGA cord to get sound while using
HDMI and I know there are audio adapters that tell the system to reroute sound to the adapter from HDMI so that way the two devices do not interfere with eachother, WHY THEN DOES IT NOT WORK FOR ME??!??! No matter what the two devices still clash, it still
does the continuous restarts without ever actually finishing starting up when I have both plugged in.

Is it something with my Xbox or am I just having a stroke of badluck with my Xbox? Is it a setting? WHAT HELP?!!?!?!?

 

Have you not tried using a cable instead of wireless?

 

Could be your wireless connection, Id do as Owen has suggested and try plugging in an ethernet cable. You could also try setting up your modem close to your Xbox 360. If you cant do that you could buy a WiFi extender which will boost the signal and make
a more stable connection.

 

So u guys are suggesting to connect an Ethernet cord from my router to my xbox, or try to set up my xbox closer to my router? I know there is this thing you can get called bridged gateways or something like that, and ppl have recommended tht to me also but
if the best reccomendation is to just try those first two options first I will... Did I get everything right lol?

 

My console is an Elite and never had any problems like that. I never bothered with wireless and have it connected via an ethernet cable.

With a PC try doing a speedtest on your internet connection. Could also be that another wireless signal is interfering with yours so try using a wifi scanner programme. All these programmes do is to show on a realtime graph what channel people have their
wifi set to, enabling you to set yours to a clear channel to minimise interference.

 

You should at least try a cable once, if it fixes the problem you then know its the wireless part and can go from there.

You know better it seems, Or is LAG just your excuse Remember both consoles use the same connection silly.

A wired connection is always better IMO. Try a seperate modem just for live
