My Xbox 360 broke my GTA V disc. Can I get a free digital copy to replace it?

I had a perfectly good copy of Grand Theft Auto V that I purchased at the midnight release last September, and my Xbox 360 broke it. It was not broken when I placed it in the drive, and I did not move the console while the game was in it at all. My console
always remains in one place. While I was playing the game, I heard a sound, and then a message popped up stating that the disc was not readable. I went to the home screen and opened the drive, and there is a 1 centimeter crack in the center of my GTA V disc,
extending from the clear part in the center, through the holographic XBOX 360 logo, and stopping at the edge of the silver ring around the holographic part. On the other side of the disc (the shiny side), it appears as though the crack extends about 1/4 of
an inch beyond the edge of the silver ring.

Has anyone else experienced this, and Is there any way that I can get a free digital copy of the game to replace my broken disc, even if I have to "jump through some hoops" to do it, like proving that I bought the game and I have it and it's broken?

360 Digital copy to Xbox One

So I paid for the digital copy of gta on my xbox 360 and I was wondering if I could pay a small fee to get the digital copy of gta v onto my xbox one instead of paying 59.99 again for a game I already bought through the xbl games marketplace.

GTA V for xbox 360 on xbox one?

I have been dying to play my GTA V for xbox 360 but my 360 broke, now I am wondering if there is any way to get that to work on my xbox one. Since the game is available for xbox one and I have a copy just for 360, could I get some sort of redeem code for
it or do I really have to buy the game again for the xbox one? Because other games are free to download if you own them for xbox 360, why not GTA V?

 

nope your only option is to replace the disc you can contact Rockstar games and see what they say but the only way to get the digital copy is to pay for it.

 

hi there is a 90 day warranty on all game that are xbox. if they were out of warranty then you will have to pay for a new one. (note: if you bought it with a credit card there is an extra year --on most ones)

was your console on for a while prior to inserting the disk, as the same thing happened to me with elder scrolls oblivion, and a few days later my system stopped working reading disks altogether, it only says open tray, i dont see why we should have to buy
new games when the problem is obviously a system error, microsoft is responsible for the loss of the games, not the developers of the game
