My XBL is weird with my ethernet plugged it

Got WiFi to work.

Really weird. Have to not have an ethernet cable plugged in before you turn it on. Connects to wiFi in my room. But check this video I made when I plug an ethernet cable in:

I unplugged my ethernet cable, powered on my xbox, signed in, declined the network test, launched COD: Ghosts, game loaded, plugged in ethernet cable, then signed in to XBL.

This has worked for me.

Thanks for trying to help. All I had to do was take my xbox to the living room and plug up the ethernet so I could change the password then it worked. Very weird

My modem has wireless capabilities so my xbox is connected directly to that via wifi and so I don't have a router. I will, however try to plug my xbox into the modem with a ethernet cable the next time I can't connect to XBL. I have 2 XBL accounts on the
machine and they would both be unable to connect at the same time.

Appreciate your answer and reply to my post on MS Community - I believe the fault here was with the plug I use to run the ethernet cable into my router to avoid having a long wire going through the house, I switched the ethernet cable into an alternative slot on them and everything is back to normal now. (The plug sockets are not exactly something I look at every day!)
