My X1 S has started losing connection and instantly regaining connection again for no reaaon.

hi folks, on tuesday the 10th about 6pm GMT (for anyone not in my timezone lol)

My xbox one s randomly started booting me from party chat and continued to do so all night and all wednesday night.

It seems that its dropping connection and immediately reconnecting, so beforehand by the time i was done trying to get back into the party i would open network settings and everything would look ok. UNTIL i was in my network settings and seen it drop signal
and link back up to my router. All my download and upload speeds are ok signal strength is around 90% ive reset and rebooted my xbox and my router countless times tried absolutely everything any xbox customer services rep on the chat has told me to do ive
exhausted every avenue to get to the bottom of it, yet it wont stop happening. I have other devices connected to my wifi so the wifi doesnt seem to be the issue and these have been connected to the same router as the xbox for months so i know its not these
devices stealing all my bandwidth....sorry for such a long read but any help at all or anyone whos experienced thos with some information would be greatly appreciated thanks.

xbox one keeps losing wifi connection.

Has anyone had an issue losing WiFi connection on xbox one x it reconnects like 30 seconds later again. Definitely console related no other device in house is affected, nor did it happen to my one s. I'm using wireless connection all ports open and static
IP address, I'm also using virgin media broadband and i live in Ireland.

 

Xbox One loses Network settings during instant on mode

Hi all, hope someone can help me with this.

My xbox one recently started to lose the internet settings when waking up from instant on mode. If I reenter SSID and PW manually it still won't work. The only option I have is to shut it down completely (pressing the power button a couple of seconds) and then turning it on again. Then, the settings are all back and it connects again automatically. The issue started some weeks back I guess.

- I am in the preview program
- My NAT is moderate, when running connection test in settings, message sais it's all good
- My xbox is connected to a power surge (but has been before too when all worked fine)

WTF? any help would be appreciated. thanks

 

Hey JPL -

Is your console connected to your home network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi? If it's wireless, can you try connecting via Ethernet to see if that improves your connection? And when you say you rebooted your console, was it just a power off/on or did you

power cycle your console? Also, rather than a quick reboot of your home network, try unplugging everything and leaving it alone for 5 minutes before powering it all back on.

Hey! I actually spoke to a live chat rep and they walked me through all of the troubleshooting steps, its now saturday morning and its still happening, probably the worst its been right now. Only thing i havent tried is a wired connection as the console
is in the opposite side of the house from the router. I have however arranged a replacement console from microsoft which should be here in a few days. I spokenwith another user on these forums on thursday who has had the exact same issues and said his replacement
console has solved the problem. I tried a full reboot of everything my network my console piwered off and back on after around 5 to ten minutes of no power which seemed to solve the problem for say half a day. Now we're back to square one and its happening
every 5 minutes.

 

for the record; it would be good if you can post up the make and model of your router, and your modem as well (if this is not a single device)

 

Its a netgear superhub 2ac, my isp is virgin media, none of my other devices have dropped connection while my xbox has dropped, i know this for certain as i make a point of actively using them while my console loses signal. My ipad is wi-fi only, no sim
card so if this lost signal i wouldnt be able to use it to speak to the xbox support rep that i did when i was explaining my issue, im pretty much sure its my xbox that's faulty. This problem limits my xbox to being an expensive paperweight because i cant
do as much as stream a movie on netflix or amazon prime without having wait until my console reconnects again. Playing any multiplayer game is also pointless as at any point of my game i could be kicked, and the hassle of having to restart the game and reconnect
to a match is getting extremely tedious. And if its a game that records a loss when you disconnect like fifa which i play a lot of its pointless even starting a match...im glad though that microsoft have recognised an issue and replaced my xbox instead of
fobbing it off as a possible internet issue on my routers side.
