My X1 doesn't turn on!!!!! :( :(

Recently my X1 went through what I believe was a power surge. As I live in India and the voltage here is higher than the required amount of voltage I use a voltage converter. When this incident happened my voltage converter stopped working and my X1
shut down. Now I got a new voltage converter and now I see an orange light on the power brick but when I turn on my X1 it turns on and it shuts down after a couple of seconds after a click noise from inside the Xbox. What should I do guys? Any kind of help

Xbox One can not turn off Xfinity X1 DVR

This isn't an Xbox One issue. My X1 remote doesn't even turn off the X1... only the TV. This started happening around July or so I think in a firmware update from Comcast.

one s doesn't turn on

not had it for long and just today when i try to turn it on with my controller it just turns off so i think ok then i press the button and it makes the MMMM GOOOD sound but no lights or console, i can spam it which is nice but i wanna play forza -w-

Sorry to hear it. A voltage converter is never a recommended thing to use on the console. You should always purchase a power adapter meant for your region.

If you have a friend who has an Xbox One console with the proper adapter then see if you can try theirs on your console to see if it works. If it does then you may be able to purchase it from the link below.

If it does not then the console (and possibly power brick) will need to be repaired. You can set that up from the same link.

I still can't believe the X1 doesn't do this. Even the 360 does it, as long as it's turned on. It's ridiculous.

I should add the problem occurs when I turn off my Xbox One and unplug it. If the Xbox is turned off but plugged into an outlet then the router/cable modem doesn't "freeze". Please help. I love the X1 but this does present a minor inconvenience.

This has happened to me also... All of the sudden, TV, Receiver and AVR power off. X1 stays on. This is not a power issue, all turns off (same circuit) minus the X1. There doesn't appear to be a pattern to this, just random times.

Hey FuzzyJester,

Try going into TV & OneGuide settings and typing in make=Comcast, model=X1 for your STB. If that doesn't work go to Troubleshooting and specifically enter C1982 for your STB codeset.

If that doesn't work, then either your Kinect doesn't have line of sight to your X1, or the X1 actually has its IR receiving turned off and is only doing RF (since you mentioned that your remote has a setting..but usually it should receive both).
