So to hear you are having issues casting your PC to your Xbox. Let's try and resolve this.

Have you downloaded the Wireless Display app on your PC as well? Try doing so here: Get Wireless Display - Microsoft Store

Make sure you haven't downloaded the Wireless Display Adapter on your Xbox console. It should just be Wireless Display.

Keep the Wireless Display app open on your Xbox which should be on a Blue screen that says [Console Name] is ready for you to connect wirelessly. While that screen is up, press Win+K on your PC and it should detect. It showed up on my list but did not connect the first time. A little bar appears on the top of your screen that may say Unable to connect. Press the reconnect button and it should go through.

You can change if you want the display to duplicate or extend, just like a separate monitor by pressing Win+P and picking which setting you prefer.

Ok, but isn't my laptop using miracast services to cast to other devices? It should be possible to do it between my laptop and console, and there are various examples demonstrating this (although from what I've found it's casting windows 10 to an xbox one)

On the Microsoft Store for the Wireless Display App, it says "Microsoft's Wireless Display app lets you wirelessly project your Windows or Android based devices to your Xbox One".

I am not ready to upgrade to windows 11. Cast has always worked on windows 10 and now after an update to the Xbox Console (to replace groove music with Windows Media Player) cast no longer works. Note, this isn't isolated to my windows 10 devices. No UPnP devices (Android, IOS, etc) are able to cast to the Xbox One console.

Please, try connecting via Wi-Fi.

Connect the Xbox and the PC on a wireless network and do the setup.

Open the Wireless Display App on your console.

Then press the Windows Key + K on your PC.

That’s the thing neither will work on remote casting it’s just a black screen on the Xbox app and it won’t appear when I press windows + K for remote display so neither will work.
