my vip star rank has reset and i have lost my star progress

MyVip spending progress is reset each year, January 1st to December 31st. You maintain your stars while you re-build the progress bar and whatever you reach this year will be your star status next year.

We recalibrate MyVIP on a yearly basis. While this usually occurs in September, at our last recalibration in September 2015 we received a lot of feedback from members which inspired us to make some changes to the way MyVIP works. We gave everyone four extra
months to boost their MyVIP Star Rank for 2017, and will also be recalibrating your annual spending by the calendar year from now on to make it easier to track. When we perform this recalibration, we take your eligible spending from the previous year (September
2015 - December 2016) and place you into a starting MyVIP rank based off this amount. We then place your progress at a default value.

MyVip progress is reset on a yearly basis. The last reset was January 1st, 2017 and all users lost their progress (you keep your achieved stars). You then spend during 2017 and get a new star rank in 2018 based on 2017 spending.

The progress is what resets. You spend money this year, whatever rank you get to is your star rank for the following year. So you were 1 star last year (since you didn't make it to 2 star) and you will keep 1 star this year until you spend enough to earn
2 stars. However much money you spend this year will increase your star rank and you'll have that rank the following year.

That is how they've done it the last 2 years.

Ok thank you or that, The year before my rank got reset back to 0 from 2 stars as anything that was considered a pre order was removed and all my games were pre ordered. Thank you for clarifying that with me. I really hope pre orders count towards VIP Rank
as pre ordering now doesn't really make sense for me

I'm having the same problem; all of a sudden my VIP rank went from 66% of the way to 5 stars as a 4-star, to 91% of the way to 4 stars as a 3-star.
