MY VIP Progress reset?

Hi Xbox Live Rewards,

My VIP Progress before December 31st 2016 was 1 Star and 91% Progress to level 2 Star. However after the New Year (I thought it was a glitch and have left it for a while thinking that it will go back to normal though it hasn't) has been reset back to only
a Level 1 star with 0% Progress to level 2 star.

Why has this occurred and what can I do to get it back to where it was? Also on this note I am wondering what the new changes for Xbox Live Rewards Members 2017 will contain. Is there any chance Pre Orders will count to VIP Rank as Pre Downloading the game
is always win for me.

VIP Progress Reset

Before the new year, I only needed to spend $64 dollars to finally get to a 5 star V.I.P. and when it told me to check back on January 5th, it reset my progress. It now tells me I am 0% of the way to 5 stars as opposed to 96% or whatever it was before the
new year. What gives? Is all the money I spent to get more rebates back just gone because of a new year? I hope not and I still only need to spend $64 to finally get my 5 stars.

Some clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Ranks reset each year, on January 1. You either have to spend the same amount or more each year in order to maintain or raise your star level.

There is no word yet on any changes made to the program in the future.

 

It's not that my whole rank was reset, its just that the progress to get my next star was reset. Also why does the "rank" then reset based off what you're saying every year? That's frustrating.

The progress is what resets. You spend money this year, whatever rank you get to is your star rank for the following year. So you were 1 star last year (since you didn't make it to 2 star) and you will keep 1 star this year until you spend enough to earn
2 stars. However much money you spend this year will increase your star rank and you'll have that rank the following year.

That is how they've done it the last 2 years.

 

Ok thank you or that, The year before my rank got reset back to 0 from 2 stars as anything that was considered a pre order was removed and all my games were pre ordered. Thank you for clarifying that with me. I really hope pre orders count towards VIP Rank
as pre ordering now doesn't really make sense for me
