My VIP gems conversion after merger with Microsoft Rewards

I have around 700 gems, which I could redeem for a $10 credit. IF that reward wasn't "out of stock".

How this is out of stock, I have no idea, as it's digital and not physical.

Anyway, according to the popup on the XBox rewards page, the program will soon be shut down and merged with Microsoft Rewards.

Okay, fine.

But, according to the FAQ linked in the popup, any unredeemed gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points at a rate of One gem to One reward point.

I'm feeling like I'm getting hosed pretty hard here. An artificial scarcity has been created, and then I'm forced to take 1/10 the value. That's not cool.

Either open up the digital rewards, or give a better conversion rate.

Have been wondering what happens to VIP gems when Rewards merges with Microsoft Rewards? If its a case of needing to spend beforehand, Fair enough. However, everything actually worth getting and/or actually wanted is 'Out Of Stock'. So, I ask. What happens
then?

MyVIP Gems to Microsoft Rewards Points

So with the new transition between Xbox Live Rewards and Microsoft Points and the conversion of "Any remaining MyVIP Gems left in your account after that day will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points once the transition is complete", what is the conversion
rate? 1:1? If so, what is the logic behind this transition because the main way I go about getting Gems is spending money, and a single USD is worth about 20 Gems (Xbox One X Conversion factor). In Microsoft Points, a single USD is worth about 967 points ($3
Xbox Gift Card Conversion) or 910 points ($100 Windows Gift Card Conversion). I have some other reasons for not liking Microsoft Points but regardless, I want to know what the conversion between Gems and Points will be because there is no logic in waiting
for them to convert if it is a 1:1 ratio. My only question is what this conversion will be, and to to express my opinion on a change that I cannot see any benefits from. Thanks

I’m definitely aggravated by this nonsense.

I’ve been a member of Xbox Live Rewards since the beginning. I’ve also been a member of Bing rewards ( Now Microsoft Rewards) since the beginning as well. While I have gotten a lot of great things from both, this transition is a Joke.

A Conversion Rate of of 1 VIP Gem = 1 MS Rewards Credit is a slap in the face. You can make about 700 MS Rewards Credits per day, depending on your account Level and whatnot.

So my 1200+ My VIP Gems that could’ve gotten me $25 worth of rewards, is now going to be reduced to about $1.50 worth of rewards? How in the holy hell does that make sense?!

I wonder if I just decide to not let them add my Xbox Live Rewards stuff to my existing MS Rewards account, that I’ll make out better for it, since they’re supposed to be transferring anyone’s My VIP and all that into Local Currency?

I know MS Rewards very well. That Gem=Credit conversion is a complete, barely laughable joke.

I definitely have to contact MS about this absurd crap. Share my Comment and everyone else’s comments on this topic as much as you can. We gotta wake those lazy idiots up to this issue they’ve created.

Since that item is Out of Stock in the Vault, you cannot claim any copies of that item since there are none left in the Vault.

Someone please tell me what the conversion rate is for VIP gems to USD cause 1 gem to 1 MS reward points is complete and utter **** and opting out before it's too late is looking like the better way to go. But we'll probably get shafted on that route as
well.
