  3. USB Flash Drive

Hi, i was just wondering why my USB flash drive keeps deleting everything off it when I turn the xbox off. I transferred some games on there that i can't really fit on the xbox because I only have 20GB hard drive. If i turn it off and on again its fine but
if its off for an hour or more everything's gone by the time I come back on. I thought it might be because I took it out of the xbox when I turned it off but I left it in last night and everything has gone again today. Its a brand new out of the packed 32GB
flash drive that I'm pretty sure is fine and it says its fine when the xbox formats it. I've tried it 3 or 4 times now and each time everything's gone.

Really appreciate it if anyone has any idea why or how to stop it.

    Thanks.

Hi there FiveStar EVO, sorry to hear that your stick deleting Xbox Content, I also have Grand Theft Auto V on USB drive.

Try another USB drive, if everything will be fine so problem is your "Deleting Itself" stick. That will mean that your stick is broken or not compatible with Xbox 360 no matter what Xbox USB check message says.Try to use another drives or SanDisk Xbox 360
USB 2.0 Stick - it's official Xbox 360 16gb drive. I have SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16gb and it working fine with my Xbox.

Hope that will help you and you will be able to play soon.

So it sounds like it is incompatible

Alot of people find pny drives not to work too well with xbox units

Kingston or SanDisk or Lexar tend to be better there used to be a compatibility list for USB drive in the old forums but those are gone

Remember not all USB drives are created equal

Paying for a better quality drive saves you money and time

    Cannot sign in.

Error code 8007045D indicates possible corruption on your hard drive.

The first step is to secure your profile and to have it safely stored to a USB flash drive.

    With your Xbox turned off,
    safely remove the hard drive
    and plug in a
USB flash drive configured for use with the Xbox 360.

Turn on your Xbox and download your profile from LIVE to USB.

Turn off your Xbox and remove the USB flash drive and add the hard drive back.

    Turn on your console,
    delete profile only
    , clear cache, and
    download profile from LIVE
    .
