I like to see the improvements being done at a good pace but still some issues I have in general for xbox one and xbox live on it.

    1. Can't Send voice messages to friends (last generation could, useful feature and no reason it shouldn't be on xbox one)

    2. Game takes too long to load friends and messages. (When I go to open a message it takes a loading screen and takes me away from the game, same applies to inviting friends or checking my list, takes too long. It is actually faster and less intrusive to
use smartglass on my phone for messaging on xbox one which is quite sad.

    3. Kinect motion controls seem of no use to me at least, voice commands are quite useful when they work which is around 60% for me which is a shame.

    4. No xbox gold rewards for xbox one users, it seems I sold my xbox 360 and bought a xbox one at launch to beta test it for quite a lot of money with very little reward. I suffered all the bugs and the bad start, witnessed a price drop and get nothing for
my troubles, xbox 360 is better supported still.

    5. Twitch app as of right now doesn't seem to work, says im broadcasting but twitch it says im offline. Don't know if this is twitch or xbox related.

    6. The game dvr function after recent update seems to record without sound for me. Quality in general could improve.

Thanks for reading, just my two cents.

    :)

  2. My two cents on Xbox One

I want to ring in on the Xbox One. I will not be belligerent. I will just state what I believe.

I have been an Xbox Live customer for years. Been gold for 9 years. I feel I have to speak up about all of the stuff surrounding the Xbox One. Particularly the “Online every 24 hours” restriction.

This is by far the second worst thing Microsoft could have done short of being always online. If I am paying $500+ tax, I want to use my machine when and where I see fit.

What happens with the Xbox One if the following happens?

-My modem or router dies and it takes me a few days to a week to replace it.

-I run into some hard times and have to choose between food or internet.

-My ISP decides to do an “upgrade” that takes a day or two or worse, a week.

-Something happens to Live and it goes down. Whether it be for maintenance, some group is doing an attack on it, something similar to what happened to theoriginal Xbox Live happens, etc.

-I move to a new place and it takes up to a week to get everything installed.

-I travel somewhere, bring my console, and do not have internet access yet want to play my games.

In all those cases, I'm stuck with a useless black device that does what other devices I already own do. Mind you they cost less. I'd rather have a machine I can play whenever and where ever I want and not have to worry that, if I don't connect within 24
hours, I'll be left with a machine that can only watch me watch TV and scratch myself.

I understand that Microsoft wants to combat piracy and make money for its developers but, this is not the way. No matter what Microsoft does, there will always be piracy. The consoles will always be hacked in one way or another. The difference is, are you
really going to alienate your customers to combat it?

In terms of making money for the developers, I can understand that as well. However, not being able to just hand a game to a friend to allow them to play it sucks. If you're going to make us have to be friends on Xbox Live, allow us to do something cool.
Such as, allow me admin privileges over games I own. Then I can give up my rights to a game to a friend and, when I want to play it, take it back from him or her. To play it.

If we could do that, it would do a few things. It would allow more people to have access to a game and potentially make them want to purchase said game when they no longer have access to it. If Microsoft wants more control over this, only allow a person
to have access to another persons game for X amount of time. A cool down before a friend could re-barrow the game or any game for that matter would also be acceptable.

I have noticed a pattern with the dominate console the prior generation. They get lazy, greedy, or both. With Xbox 360 vs PS3, the Xbox 360 won hands down. Why? Better online experience, less bulk (aka, lower price point), and it arrived first. As a result
Sony lost this past “war.” They won Blue Ray however so, it was worth it in the long run for them.

Now, Xbox One vs PS4. What will determine the winner? Well they're both coming out at the same time so, no advantage there. Price, Restrictions, and Features once again will be the deciding point. Yes, exclusives sell consoles but, its not the #1 thing any
more. Plus, both suck with backwards compatibility.

-Xbox One; extremely restrictive if you do not have access to the internet, no real easy way to loan your games to friends, expensive (bulk, I don't care about Kinect), and no real major innovations to the platform.

-PS4; Next to no restrictions for games, stream games from the PS4 (similar to On Live) to the Vita and really anything in the future, and lower cost (aka less bulk/more stream lined, no pushing products on me I do not want).

Because of all of this. I am honestly looking more at the PS4 than the Xbox One. I never got a PS3 and never will. So backwards compatibility means nothing for me there. No alienation as a result as with my large library of 360 games as happens with Xbox
One. Microsoft, you either need to get your act together, realize you are making some massive mistakes, or you will lose this console “war.”

I have the same problem with the Game DVR not recording sound since the update. I've also noticed that the Friends and Followers list doesn't display the amount of each that you have all of the time since the update. It comes and goes.

I don't really like Kinect, it has to be said. Kinect is just a superfluous add-on, speaking subjectively. The best time to use it (if you're ever going to use it) is when there's absolutely no noise in the room you're using it in. Any ambient noise,
and the detection of what you're saying is hit and miss.

I've enjoyed some of the games that have come out since launch, but for the most part I'm underwhelmed. E3 will be the point at which I decide if I'm going to continue to support Microsoft's endeavours with the Xbox One. Poor show games-wise, and I'm selling
    up.

I only have a few words for this. Add the 360 software to the X1 hardware and everything will be sorted.

  6. One thing I would like to see from that list is voice messages. I cant see it not coming altogether but I would sure love to see it sooner than later. Question is, will they extend it from 15 seconds to more? It was 15 seconds right?

    1. there are a few tech issues that currently prevent cross platform chat one of which is the frequency and bit rates of the 2 chat systems. The Xbox One audio chat headset now streams 24 kHz at a 16-bit resolution uncompressed both downstream and upstream
compared to the Xbox 360 headset that streamed 16 kHz downstream and 8 kHz upstream at a 14-bit resolution compressed.

    2. Microsoft are aware of these issues and are making improvements with each system update.

    3. Again Microsoft are addressing these issues. This is why they are running dashbord betas and actively seeking community feedback.

    4. Xbox gold rewards are available for store purchases, taking part in surveys via the rewards website, etc. The games for gold is apparently coming to xbox one once the catalogue grows a little more.

    5. not too sure about the issue with Twitch, I've not used it much yet.

    6. I had the DVR issues until I opened upload (not upload studio) went back to the home screen and pressed the menu button then quit. works fine now.

It's the curse of adopting tech early, there are always a few issues and remember, Microsoft have already made huge changes to the way the system works after a massive backlash from the community last year.

I would however, like to see a SKU released with a minimum of 2TB SSD as I have almost filled the measly 500 GB HDD that is installed in the current SKU.
