I'm pretty bad with technology, so please bear with me.

I have a Marantz 5010 AV Surround Receiver. I believe it upscales everything on my TV to 4K (resolution?)

My TV itself does not support 4K.

I've plugged the HDMI cable between my Xbox One S console and the receiver. When I go to Settings -> Display & Sound -> Video output, it says the TV resolution is only 1080p. Then when I go to Advanced video settings -> 4K TV details, everything suggest
    that I won't get 4K:

    "TV resolution:

Your TV setup doesn't support 4K UHD (60Hz). Video output won't be upsacaled to 4k"

    "Watching movies & TV:

Your TV setup doesnt support 4K at 24Hz. You won't be able to watch content at 4K 24Hz.

Your TV setup doesnt support 4K at 50Hz. You won't be able to watch content at 4K 24Hz.

    etc."

So does this mean I'm not going to be able to enjoy 4K resolution on any of my media because of my TV? Or should I not worry, because my AV receiver will take care of it?

    :)

Xbox One X 4K pass thru?

I have a day 1 XB1. I just got a 4K TV and found out that it does not support 4K pass thru. I was thinking of upgrading to a XB1S, but saw it also does not support 4K pass thru. My question is now does the XBOX ONE X support 4K pass thru. I hope MS has
the ability to update the entire family of Xboxes to support 4K pass thru. I know it's a small thing, but my Xbox One is just my Xbox now, and enjoy running my TV thru my Xbox. I hate having to switch inputs on my AV receiver to go to my Xbox.

So will the XB1X support 4K pass thru?

    Hi

If your television does not support 4K then you will not be able to view content in 4K on it and you will need to upgrade your television to one that does.

Lip sync issue with blu ray app

The Xbox one s is going directly into the TV it's an LG950V OLED 4k TV.

The sound is after the picture so I can see the lips move and then the sound is heard. I understand from the AV forums for this TV that others also are having the same issue.

Going through my AV receiver seems fine but it is only 1080p so no good for 4k movies.

    Xbox One S 4K Output/Input

Also now it's telling me that my tv doesn't support 4K, even though it does and had the one s in 4K upscale mode.....this is getting old.

Xbox One S not recognizing full 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

My TV doesn't support HDR at all but it is 4k capable. I have tried having the XBOX One S directly connected to the TV and through the receiver with no luck getting anything 4k out of the One S.

Does the XO support 1024x768 resolution?

That post wasn't directed at you Galactic Geek. I was saying that it didn't support 1024x768 to answer el bos's question since nobody else did. Though, you did imply that it was supported when you said, "If that's all your TV can support however, then
that's all you'll probably get." That implies that the Xbox One will support whatever resolution el bos's TV or any TV can support which is not true. The TV supports 1024x768, but the Xbox One does not. Many TVs support 1080i, but the Xbox One does not.

Dwoop33 is the one that said it could "receive a 1080i resolution" which is incorrect. There were some other things incorrect in Dwoop33's post that I won't get into.

There is nothing "4K-ready" about the Xbox One system itself. Just because the HDMI cable supports 4K that does not make the Xbox One 4K-ready. If you took the HDMI cable included with the Xbox One and connected it to a non-4K TV and a set-top box that
does not make either the TV or the STB 4K-ready. Only the cable could be considered 4K-ready. If you know that its only the HDMI cable that supports 4K you shouldn't mislead people into thinking the Xbox One supports 4K or is "4K-ready".
