MY TOP 10 ISSUES WITH XB1 AND ADVANCED WARFARE

Just calling mine as I see it. The only time I have any issue with not hearing or speaking on joining a party is when I don't plug the mic in before I join or start a party (which i do accept is a minor issue) I can walk into my living room command the
One to turn on and most games work instantly from where I left them with the resume feature. Compare that with logging onto the 360 watching the spinney circle thing for a few minutes while it logs onto LIve then going through countless loading screens
before I can actually start playing a game and I know which works better for me all day long. And everyone I play with (quite a few and from UK, US and Aus) dont have such problems or issues either. But some things you have to put down to users not knowing
how to use the console properly in my opinion, with all due respect to you, you have had your console for a while it seems but by your own admission didn't know how to set it up to insta turn on, auto log you in or even how to quit games and apps properly.
Maybe that's part of the issues you are having. Just a thought.a

7. No worries - it's not easy to find. If you press the "home/Xbox" button when you are in a game, so that it is no longer maximised and then press the menu button on the controller (the one on the right) then you'll see the context menu popup - also useful
for getting to Settings easily.

8. When you configure the Kinect and it tells you to put the volume up while it does its sound test - put the volume up REALLY LOUD (until it actually tells you it is too loud). After that Kinect voice recognition is much better.

Quit function -- Select the app you want to have stop running, hit the "Start" button or "Menu" button as it is now known as and select "Quit".

 

I agree with you and your comments, but most of these are COD: Advanced Warfare issues. You can blame Sledgehammer Games/Activision for that. True, the game play may be the best COD to date, but the experience as a whole leaves something to be desired. Hey,

Party and Game are two different pieces - I agree. Don't "Invite to Party" if you're really inviting to the game. It's just stupid. And they mask the issue and make all believe the issue is with the console itself. I've experienced these same issues on the
PS4 - it's AW...not the XB1.

That being said, MS did themselves no favors by burying such fundamental items deep into their interface. Some elementary tasks on the 360 are now difficult to get to. Shame on you MS.

 

Hi - I am having the joining Advanced Warfare games with my friends issue as well, what is the sequence, and if someone has sent you an invite and you miss the popup - where do you then go to find the invite and join? If I hold the controller Xbox button
it just switches off!

It could be me being stupid but from a dozen attempts I have only managed to get a party going and that was with only one person.

On the 360 you just went to messages but that doesn't seem to work on the Xbox one.

 

I've found that it's a timing issue - meaning once it pops up and states, "Party Time!" you almost have to wait for the very second that it states just under that "Hold the X button to join party." (Or whatever it states.)

If that doesn't work, then I have had SOME luck pushing the home button once and then going to the upper, top-left corner for messages. There you will a slew of invites and messages. Sometimes it lets me join; sometimes it doesn't.

Then, if that doesn't work, I believe you can go to the Friends tab at the top, select a friend, and drill down within that to join a party and/or game.

It's stupid and rarely works, which is the most frustrating piece. It worked quite well on the 360, so why change it? In fact, if you COULDN'T join a game (not a "Party," as Activision now calls it), that option was grayed out! You could only join if it
wasn't grayed out and had the joinable icon next to the friend's name. Not now. Nooooooo. Now you have to select Join Game and wait to see if it states that the session is full. Love the game; hate the method.
