My thoughts on the Games with Gold program

A lot of people bought the walking dead and wolf among us season passes--- Then the first episodes were free-- What's wrong with trying to make more money??? Don't we all do that ??

If you want something, GO GET IT. just don't make a stink if it's on sale at some point. The price for entertainment changes

If you buy a new DVD, you don't complain when it's in the 5$ bin later. You discredit your own argument... MANY people bought Halo 3 and Saints row 3. When they became free titles nobody complaind they bought it new....

Dead Space Games with Gold

I previously purchased Dead Space when it was free with the Games with Gold program on my Xbox Live Gold account. When I try to play it now on my Xbox One it tells me to make sure my membership is current and does not load the game. Is this an error with
my account?

 

I guess you're right BongKaos. I suppose I never thought about the company's viewpoint, only my consumer viewpoint. Thanks for enlightening me!

 

Steam sales can burn sometimes. I bet sales of Steam games drop in the weeks running up to the Summer sale, and spike again during and after it. =)

A savvy consumer would wait on sales all the time. Me thinks. I'm not that savvy when it comes to disposable income purchases. But when it comes to luxury items... well... I don't own a Xbox One yet, but when I do I'll get a good deal on it. Definitely not
an early-adopter. I've owned too many things that have crashed and burned. Panasonic 3DO anyone? Dreamcast? Jaguar? Lynx?

Maybe I'll leap on the One too early and a better deal will come right after it. Heh ha. That's life. Shtoof happens. {XD

I picked up my first original xbox about 5 years into the 360,then my 360 only about 3 years ago.

I have my eye on a VHS video recorder next.

 

Sadly I bought a Virtual Boy New.... Getting burned for buying something you want is harsh... Live and learn to shop around.

I can't hold out much longer on next-gen. The launch titles were meh, or on last-gen too. Unity, Shadows of Mordor, Arkham Knight though. When they hit my money will ignite and burn a big friggin' hole right through my pocket. {XD

 

I am still in complete denial that the xbox one exists.

I have no interest in it whatsoever, maybe in ten years.

 

The only good thing about the One is the games, I got one last month but the interface was so different to the 360 interface I've come to know and love I returned it... Unity does look absolutely amazing though!

 

first off these games arent free, you're paying a subscription, secondly its every customers right to complain if they dont like the level of service they get from any supplier of any service, the past 3 games have been absolute garbage and its becoming
apparent that even with the games with gold approach microsoft simply are too greedy to compete with sony, it was evident when they tried it on with xbox one games, back when they were saying you couldnt re-sell your own game that you paid for, now its becoming
even more apparent due to the vast difference in quality of "free" game offered .

 

The games are 100% free.

The subscription price has not increased once since the games for gold programme was introduced.

Only in your opinion are the games garbage,not to others.

I happen to think black ops 2,civilization revolution and batman are garbage,does that stop you enjoying them??

As i always say,take the free games and stop moaning.

 

clearly you cant read as i said the last 3 games were garbage, i too love civ3 and was impressed when i got it as i was with dark souls and maybe 1 other but like i said THE LAST 3 have been garbage, all of them were arcade titles not one proper game in
nearly 2 months, i reiterate microsoft simply are too greedy to compete with sony

 

Yes i read can read, you said the last 3 games are garbage, only in YOUR opinion.

At no point did microsoft say the FREE games would be "proper" titles, a lot of people actually prefer arcade games as they don`t already own them.

I really don`t understand where this entitlement mentality comes from, each and every one of you that complains about free games just sound like spoilt little brats.

 

You realise that you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold right? Therefore, the games you get for having Gold are not free, since you have to pay for the service.
