    My third Elite controller broke at the weekend - Xbox Support as useless as ever


    As the title states, my third Xbox Elite controller broke at the weekend. I pulled the left trigger and it stuck in and won't come back out.

    I contacted Xbox Support via online chat. The guy told me to register the controller on the device support section of Xbox.com, except it does not accept the serial number. This is a common problem, so I don't know why the support staff are still telling
    customers to do this. Anyway, I told the guy that the web page wouldn't accept the serial number and he told me that I should look for the serial number on the receipt. I'm sure I was talking to a bot, not a real person. There was a gap of 2-3 minutes in between
    each response too. Ultimately they were not able to help.

    I then called the MS Store, which is where the controller was bought from. I could barely hear the guy and he had an accent so thick that I couldn't really understand what he was saying. I gave him my order number, he put me on hold, then came back and said
    he'd have to transfer me to another department.

    I got transferred and was in a queue for about 10 minutes waiting to talk to someone. The lady that eventually answered had an accent even thicker than the first guy and the quality of the line was so poor that it sounded like she was in a cave deep under
    ground. I had absolutely no idea what she was saying, so all I could do was end the call.

    How do I go about getting my controller replaced???

    I bought the Xbox Elite that came with the elite controller, i took care of the elite controller like it was my precious, never drop it or anything, then after 10 months the RB button bumper broke due to the use i guess... then i call xbox support and they
    told me the elite controller only has 3 months of warranty. only 3 months? WHAT, so what should i do with this broken 150$ controller? They told me they cannot fix it or replace it because the short time warranty. They told me i would have to buy another elite
    controller, Are you serious xbox? The elite controller should be indestructible! is a 150$ controller how can this happened? And how xbox don't give more warranty time to the costumer, at least AT LEAST a year for such expensive controller. The controller
    works perfectly fine is just the RB bumper that is broken, but now is trash according to xbox support and i have to buy another one. This is not fair xbox, you are playing with kids feelings here. I've been a costumer for more than a decade buying all xbox
    products so you guys can tell me that there is nothing to do and that i have to buy another 150$ controller and for what? If i buy another xbox elite controller it will break again because they are cheaply made, is not true they are made with the best parts,
    that's not true they are made with plastic that is easily breakable, trash. Don't ever buy a elite controller.

    Device Service and Repair Not Working

    Here in Australia The Elite Controller was covered by my Elite Consoles Warranty. I have already sent it in to be replaced twice (stupid rubber grips expanding).

    If https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/devices was still working as it's supposed to It would be being replaced for a third time right now.

    Have you tried directly calling Microsoft support? Or is that what you mean by MS Store?

    Sorry to hear that it's been a frustrating experience for you. Please be sure to register your Xbox One console on the service website before requesting a repair for your Xbox controller. Once you register your Xbox One, you should be able to request your
    controller for repair or replacement.

    If you're still having issues, please reach back out to phone or chat support. Be sure to let them know that you were unable to register yourself and you require additional assistance.

    It's rare that you talk to an MS employee on here who seems like anything more than a bot. Miss Ghidorah posted some copy and paste ish, while not taking any ownership of this issue whatsoever. That sums up MS support to me. You either have to know someone
    at the top, or you have to beat your head against a wall repeatedly until you get lucky.

    Sorry to hear about the issue with the left trigger and the issues with getting the controller repaired through the support channels. In general you need to register a console before you can request a repair or replacement for an accessory like the Xbox
    One Elite Controller online as Miss Ghidorah stated.

    I can assure you that we're not bots here, we do like to try and keep a simple, clean and professional attitude on the forums though. This is because not everyone speaks english, so we like to try and make it easier for people to use translators if needed.
    Hope that helps explain things a bit better. My third Elite controller broke at the weekend - Xbox Support as useless as ever :)

    To clarify though, were you able to setup the controller for repair/replacement yet? Or did you still need assistance with that?
