My tenure is wrong. Should be showing me a 12 instead of 7

I was referred here by Xbox Chat Support. I don't know what exactly this post will accomplish, but I want to try everything.

I've basically had my Xbox Live account since 2002 or 2001, I know this for certain. But my account only shows me a 7, rather than a 12 or an 11. It's off by about 5 years, which is quite a long time. I created my account the same day I got my Xbox. I never
changed my email, only my Gamertag a couple of times. I originally thought my tenure had been reset when I made the transfer from Xbox to Xbox 360, I didn't even know what "tenure" was until recently. Xbox Chat Support pretty much said they couldn't do anything
about it and referred me here. I was sick of calling in to them every other day for the past month or so. I'm at the end of my rope here, and my patience with Microsoft is razor thin as a result of this. I've been patronized and insulted by Xbox Chat Supports
(I have transcripts) been told I would be contacted by a "specialist" on two separate occasions by two different people, they even took my phone number and email address from me. The first time, the guy said it would be within 24 hours. The second guy said
I'd be contacted in 24-48 hours. That was about 2 weeks ago now. I still have not been contacted by any "specialists." Some chat support person even tried to "give" me free games as a sort of compensation for their repeated failures. Stuff that is already
free on the Dashboard for the 360. I've gotten several different contradictory stories and explanations from Chat Support about this. I was not amused. I could really go at some length about Xbox Support as a result of my experience over the last couple of
months dealing with them, but I think you get the picture, and understand my position about what is going on here. It's just a number. I've been paying for my gold subscription since at least 2002 and it should be reflected on my account. I don't know how
this could have been messed up.

Tenure is wrong!

My tenure is showing a 5 when it should be at least a 7.

 

Incorrect Tenure SUddenly?

Sorry, just saw a thread with a list of what I need to provide.

Tenure currently showing 7 years.

Tenure was and should be 10 years and counting

Noticed tonight 3-12-13 (No idea how long its been that way)

Already cleared system cache.

When the 360 first came out tenure was still a fairly unknown quantity. If you reverted to Silver from a Gold membership then your tenure would reset and you would have to start back at 0 again.

A few years back they changed that and your tenure would accrue so long as you had a Gold membership and would be put on hold if you reverted to Silver to begin again from the last known tenure when you resumed your membership.

If, at any point before that change was made your tag reverted to Silver it would have started from 0 again. This would be the reason why your membership shows 7 instead of the number you believe it to be.

I read on the link you gave, it says that tenure is the amount of full years of having a Gold subscription. If that's the case, i should have at least 10, probably 11. I've been paying for my damned Xbox Live account all this time since the first Xbox came
out. What's the point of this number if it doesn't even represent how old your account is?
