When you delete your Microsoft Account, or your Microsoft Account is terminated by Microsoft - this could have been inactivity or a violation of the Code of Conduct - then your Xbox Live Gamertag has no Microsoft Account associated with it. This meaning,
because you don't have a Microsoft Account with that gamertag, the gamertag can not be reused and can not be signed in - as far as I know.

My best advice is to contact Xbox Live support using the
Contact Us page. They have a wider range of tools available to them, so they can look into this and let you know exactly what they can do to help you in regards to this problem.

If you have deleted your Microsoft Account within the last 10 days - No longer then 10 days
- then you may be able to get it back. However, you will need to recover your Microsoft Account by filling out this form:

https://account.live.com/acsr

Once you have closed your Microsoft Account, you have 10 days to get your account back, before it is permanently removed from the system. If support are not able to help you with this problem, then I would recommend starting a new gamertag. There is no timeline
for a gamertag, meaning a gamertag - as it stands - can last forever, even if there is not a Microsoft Account associated with it.

I need to make my Live tag the same as the Xbox tag so when i download codes in Live they are axtive on the Xbox.

I dont want to change my gamer tag. What i'd like to do is set my son up with his own tag....so he can play with his own friends...under his own gamer tag. He plays under his tag..I play under my tag..Totally separate

Why did my gamer-tag change? It really didn't offend nobody ( BIgBOyLuvMiLPhz )it was a funny gamer-tag to make people laugh and this was my first time actually getting reported. My friends gamer-tag were funny but when they got reported they had to change
there gamer-tag to something else or they couldn't play live at all and you gave them a (FREE GAMER-TAG CHANGE), how come I cant get that opportunity to change my gamer-tag?
