    I bought xbox live but can't play online, I recently bought the xbox and I think I purchased it for the account which was already on the xbox but I can't get into that any longer

    Hey there bud!



    Okay, to cancel any further payments being made towards Xbox LIVE (cancelling your subscription) you will need to sign in on this website, with the account you wish to cancel the membership for, then in the top right corner of the page select 'My Account'.
    On the new page that has appeared, select in the top part in the center area of the page 'Cancel Auto Payment'.



    This will stop any automatic transactions being made, cancelling your Gold subscription. You can re-instate it at any time you wish in the future if you wish.

    So basically what happened is you have purchased the subscription on a old account and not the account you are wanting to so you transfer it if possible but you don't have access to the old anymore so it making it troublesome for yourself Correct?.

    If so I suggest the following Try contacting an xbox agent directly https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us

    Press billing and account >> at step 2 press see other options >> Under Subscriptions press get my subscription back >> Step 3 show other contact options >> Chat with xbox support

    That is the quickest and safest way to resolve this issue :)

    It sounds like your subscription was on auto renew and when Microsoft tried to charge the payment option for the next renewal it did not go through.

    You can check on this by signing into your account at account.microsoft.com/services

    If this is the case you would need to pay that past due amount then you would be able to enter in your pre paid code.
