my storage device keeps switching back to my old one on xbox pc app.

my xbox app on my pc (windows) keeps reverting back to my old selected storage device after i change it to a larger device. its really annoying because it means i cant download any more of the games i want like fallout new Vegas because I don't have enough space. so, i change the default download area in my settings. i then press install on the game, and then i look at the top to see how much space i have and it goes from 81gigs (device im trying to use for storage, its a usb) to 20 gigs (my pcs memory). plese may i have some help because as stated i cant download any games like new veags. thanks

- Open Windows 10 File Explorer (Windows + E), locate and right-click on the USB drive, select "Format".

- Set the NTFS as the target file system, tick "Quick Format" and click "Start" to start the formatting.

- When the process completes, click "OK" to confirm.

Afterwards try to use it again.

You need to do a reinstall office xbox App or edit with console tool on your windows

if i chose the wrong one it was accidental. not sure if i can switch storage devices. if i could i would think this wouldn't solve my problem.

Mine was sent to my old console. Go to Download History and switch storage device and re-download.

Not the answer I hoping to hear.

This may become a real problem for PC gamers using game pass as typically when we upgrade our PC we usually use our storage devices for the new builds. I don't have any issues with other PC platforms like Steam or Origin when comes to this.

I can put the drive back in my old PC and boot it, but what do I do then to change the files and prevent this from happening when I switch it back to my new PC. It seems the files are secured.
