My sons account is having security verification issues.

I got that same error code, but I went into my account and turned the double verification off and the issues was solved.

Double verification can be found in the Security Info.

Sorry to hear that you have to experience this esp. when it involves kids. As said in the previous replies the best thing to do is report (all) his accounts.

For better security on your son's account, you may add additional security to the account (Stronger Password, Two-Step Verification, etc)

This happens when your son gave someone else the login credentials to his account, or if your son visited that person, downloaded his account on that persons console, and allowed the console to sign in to that account without any password or passcode.

As soon as the person chooses your son's profile, he will get signed out of his own console.

To prevent that from happening, tell your son to go to
https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage and change his password.

Then after changing the password, look together with him through the account security information, if the other person added their own email or phone number to the security information.

If so, they can regain access to your son's account. So make sure only your son's phone number and secondary emails are there. Also make sure that there ARE security information like your son's phone number or secondary email there, so he can recover his
account if he forgets his password, or the account gets stolen.

After you checked that everything is okay and secure, scroll further down and enable Two Step Verification. Then set up the free Authenticator App on your son's Smartphone (if possible).

With Two Step Verification a hacker trying to get into your son's account would also have to physically steal your son's phone to get into the account, as the Two Step Verification will ask for a

secret code that only the phone app can provide.

After having secured your son's account, this would be a good time to talk to your son about good account security.

Be aware, that your son's Xbox Account can hold credit card data, and will store all your son's purchases and Gold memberships that are worth A LOT of money.

And if your son carelessly lets other people access his account, they can abuse the account, up to getting your son's account permanently banned.

Which will cause him to lose all Gold membership benefits and purchased games.

So please educate your son to NEVER EVER let anyone access his account! Not for free Fortnite vBucks, or Game sharing or whatever reason a malicious person tries to tempt your son with.

Just imagine that your son's Xbox account is not just a nickname for a game, but is actually comparable the key to your house and detailed instructions on how to find your credit card and bank account data that your son is sharing with strangers, if he lets
others play with his account!

As long as you have access to the account you can set it back as long as the image complies to standards set by xbox team.
