My son has EA Games subscription but it just keeps saying 'your account is invalid'

If your son does not have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription on his account, he will not be able to play EA Play games. Only the owner of the account that has an active Ultimate subscription can access the EA Play games. Unfortunately these games cannot be shared.

Hello Tadis, you don't need to cancel your EA PLay, the Game Pass Ultimate subscription already has EA play, if you already have EA in your Microsoft account, you can purchase the Game Pass Ultimate subscription from the same account, which will keep your progress and data you already have from EA.

If the games where purchased under YOUR account you would need to make your sons xbox YOUR profiles home xbox and this will allow him to play your digitally purchased games and use any subscription (gold, game pass, EA access) that your account has on it.

No matter what console your profile is signed into you will always be able to play your games and use your subscriptions.

Keep in mind you can only switch which console you have set as your home console 5 times a year.

Keep in mind if your son wants to play your games etc... on any other console besides the home console your profile would have to be signed in at the same time as his to play your games.

I will use my setup as an example. I have 2 Xboxes and have all the subscriptions and games under my account.

Xbox 1 is in living room and is set as Home Xbox my wife and son can play All of my games and use All of the subscriptions that I have without any problems.

Xbox 2 is in my bedroom if my wife wants to play any of the games or subscriptions on this xbox she has to have my Profile signed in at the same time as she is to play them.

My son has his Microsoft account:

Family share my Xbox live Gold

he has access to the EA Games I have downloaded but cannot get multiplayer access with his free EA Games account. Such as Mirrors Edge 2, he can play but cannot get extra options "shared".

I'm asking if that is a possibility to login into EA Games under my sons Xbox/Microsoft login to give him access without causing any conflict in licensing.

Just seems confusing in that nothing is clearly stated in the official offerings around this capability. So I'm trying to get clarity. Again thanks for the help and deciphering all of this.

Hi.

You can't change subscriptions from one account to another. However you can share your subscription with your son.

You would need to sign in to the console with your account and set it as your Home Xbox (https://support.xbox.com/games/game-setup/my-home-xbox).

Then with the EA Access app you can download any game you want your son to play (with your account) and then your son can sign in and play those games on his account.
