My son entered a support a creator code that rendered access to a hacker to my credit card

I tried requesting a refund for these 20 plus charges of $120.67 on my Visa but my request was denied. I'm a single mother dependant on credit cards at times to put food on the table and now I have nothing. My account has been charged almost $2500. The disclaimer in Fortnite says you can't get anything for entering a code but parents beware that kids might be targeted to allow hackers to your credit card account if it's entered. Surely I can't be the only one this has happened to. I am furious with myself for leaving my account number on xbox but this SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!! Now I have to dispute these charges with Visa and there is no guarantee that I will ever get the money back to my credit card. I am so upset...If this has happened to anyone, please let me know what the outcome was????

I do apologize for your loss and issues ma'am, However Fortnite isn't Microsoft, that would be Epic Games, https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US is their support section. However my best answer to you is (this sucks to say) Your son/daughter may have used the card themselves, all creator codes allow is for the person they elect to support to earn like $5 for every 10K v-bucks spent by people who support them. Your best course of action may be to ask visa where the charges were made, and if you know anyone good with MAC addresses and such compare the address with the xbox's mac address and see if they match.

Be aware that if you purchase a membership with a credit card on an account that the card cannot be removed until the membership reverts back to silver. If you add a card to your son's account he will have access to it to purchase other items from the marketplace.
I would recommend heading to your local gaming store to purchase a membership code that way and then enter it on your son's account.

I am having a similar issue, I am trying to add my son who is 8 and he is setup as family on my account. I enter my credit card info but the expiration date would not go past 2020 and my credit card expires in 2021.

Thanks but I've tried to ring Microsoft support. When I select xbox options it directs me to online support and disconnects. Online support offers webchat and call back, both of which require my password. Since I'm locked out of the account by a hacker I
can't access either.

I've tried to access the account via my son's xbox but obviously the password has been changed.

I cancelled my credit card as soon as I saw charges from Microsoft, so within an hour of it being hacked.

This is getting very frustrating. I used it for my son to purchase things but it came to my phone for approval.

Now I've had to enter in a credit card number and there's no approval needed.
