My son can't sign in an error code 0x80a4001a keeps coming on I've seen about removing account ...

Do yo have to delete account to clear this error . And if we have to delete account will all progress be lost

Child account...but not really

When we signed up, my boyfriends account was set up as his 10 year old sons and his son's as his. All of my research points to one thing....create a new account. Only thing is all his progress will be lost. Does anyone know how we can recover his progress
AND give him a proper adult account?

 

No, he will not lose progress. You are not actually deleting his account, just removing it temporarily from the Xbox. Once you re-download the profile everything should be there, just as normal.

 

hi mine been like that all day done it a few times today every time that I turn the xbox off comes up with the same message I will never forget my password its been the came for years

 

Progress won't be lost as it's all saved on the Cloud but depending on which games he plays he may have to Sync his games and if he cancels the Sync then he'll lose his save and have to start over! I have done this myself and learning a very Valuable but

I do understand your concern about losing game content, but the answer is no.

No, you will not lose any game saves just make sure you are connected with a good network source.

Also, if the game crashes or if you happen to stop the sync, then just restart the console or uninstall the account and re-install the profile.

In regards to the error "0x80a4001a" I have found a link for more troubleshooting steps.
