My shark card for linked to the wrong email address

I bought a shark card through amazon and redmeemed it through the link in the page on the purchase page, however the link signed me in to an account that is not connected to any of my Xbox live accounts meaning that I cannot use the shark card which I bought.
I have found out that accounts cannot be merged any more but that I can have the shark card reassigned to the correct account but I cannot find a way of doing this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Gamertag linked to the wrong email address

My gamertag on Xbox Live is linked to an email address that I've never seen before and don't have access to. When I try to transfer my gamertag to the email address that I use, it asks me for the password of the email address that it's currently linked to,
which I obviously don't know. The Xbox support people have basically told me to reset the password, but that won't work because it will send the reset password to the email address that I don't have access to. Any ideas?

In order for someone to change your security info (the alternate account) they must have access to your account. You should change your password as recommended by the support team .

1) Sign in at http://account.live.com then choose Change Password.

I assume you have a problem getting the key code when asked since it linked to an alternate account you do not know.

To change the alternate account. Follow these steps

1) Sign in at http://account.live.com then choose Edit Security Info

[Click on the Overview tab --> Security Info]

2) Delete the alternative email address. (It will take 30 days for changes to occur)

3) Add a new alternative email
