    My Settings are Blocking Purchases of Free or Paid Content on an Adult Account


    So I recently turned 18 years old back in June of 2014. I recently purchased an Xbox One which should automatically upgrade my account to an adult account even if I never did so on my Xbox 360. At least that is what I have been told.

    Unfortunately, despite me being 18 according to both my birth certificate and my Xbox Live Account Info, I am being restricted to purchase content. All of my settings are open and unrestricted, my only current resort to pull my hair out. Some assistance
    would be greatly appreciated, Thank you very much!

    HELP! About to kill it!

    It says:

    "Your settings are blocking purchases of free of paid content. If you still want to buy this, first change your settings to allow purchases. Parents will have to change this setting for children"

    I have no idea how to change it or add his account to the adult account. HELP!

    Cannot buy anything that cost money on xbox one

    On my xbox one, whenever i try to buy anything that cost money it just says "Your settings are blocking purchases of free or paid content." Even though i have my account set to where i can buy and download anything and my account settings are on custom

    Microsoft is terrible and just wants your money. I'm sure that will be their solution if you call them "give us money and we will fix it." Guess that's what you get for investing so much in one company, me included, who still has this problem for over a
    year! No help at all!

    Don't expect any help from these idiots here either, they'll just complain they have the same problem and not help you at all.

    I can't download bf4 or any R rated games.

    If the age of your account is under 18, then there is no setting you can change that will allow you to download free M rated or unrated content. As long as your parental controls allow it, you can purchase paid content. If the age of your account is 18 or
    over, you may need to promote your account to an adult account.

    If it's paid for content, you may just have to change some family settings to allow you to purchase it. When it comes to free demos and trailers, there are no settings that will allow you to download M rated ones until you are 18. Once you are 18 you can
    promote your account to an adult account. Until then you're pretty much stuck with the parental settings.
