    My series X keeps disconnecting and reconnecting with both my controller and wireless headset


    It doesn't happen all the time but when it happens it keeps happening again and again and restarting the console doesn't fix the issue. My controller is by Microsoft for Xbox and my headset is Steelseries' Xbox model.

    Hello mimosaame,

    I understand how frustrating this type of controller issue can be. I'd like to help you find a solution! :)

    First, try clearing the cache on your console (a bit different from a restart):

    1. Turn off the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

    2. Unplug the power cable from the back.

    3. Wait at least 10 seconds.

    4. Plug the power cable back in.

    5. Turn the console back on.

    After that, check for any console updates and updates for your devices in the Xbox Accessories App.

    If you're all update to date but it keeps disconnecting, consider a 'soft reset'. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select Profile & System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console (Reset and keep my games & apps).

    Same issue on Xbox series X with xbox wireless headset. DTS encoder works just fine, dolby lets my headset disconnect and reconnect continuously. It’s unusable. I don’t think the problem is with your receiver, try DTS and see what happens.

    Hi braelynnfiedler,

    Firstly is your headset wired or wireless, if it is wireless you will need to reconnect it to the xbox after a reset as the xbox has now removed anything that was connected to it, if it is a wired headset then maybe try disconnecting the controller and reconnecting
    it again to see if that helps.
