My Series S suddenly refuses to show my SSD

I have a Series S which means storage is limited. I already have an Expansion Card but only 1 TB ain't that much if you get everything digital. I had an Xbox One before and bought an SSD for it with 2TB space. It worked fine and even with my Series S. Now, after the latest update however, my Series S won't even show me the games I had installed on that same SSD like it did before the update. I already restarted my console multiple times, unplugged and plugged in the SSD into the different USB ports and yet it still refuses to work. The little light on the SSD however flashes like it usually does when it's connected.
Is there anything I could do to solve this problem?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this kindly adjust the power management for storage if you’re in instant-on/standby mode.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power mode & startup.

3. Confirm that your Power mode is set to Instant-on/Standby mode.

4. Unselect the option When Xbox is off, turn off storage.

5. Restart your Xbox, and then go back to Settings and select System > Storage to see if your device now appears in the list.

It's because the Series S/X are new gen. They require the xbox SSD. You are using an HDD. SSD's are way faster than an SSD, the series s is trying to run the 120fps and higher graphics. Thats why they are telling you to move the games. It wants you to play them on the internal SSD storage.

Do you still have your Xbox One and does your external hard drive still work on that console?

I have successfully connected both my Seagate 'Game Drive' and my external SSD USB 3.0 drives to my Series S without any problems. All my installed games show up fine.

The Series X/S supports the same external drives as the Xbox One/S/X support. If your drive isn't being detected it's probably become corrupted or has a hardware issue.

I don't understand , the xbox one x with 1tb ssd drive which is what mine has. Should run starfield alot better and it's 4k60fps all other games . But can't dl it to this console. Makes zero sense. My older gen one x w ssd is Def a better console the the new s console. No not the series x but Def better then series S

Are you using a Series S/X?

Series S/X optimized games can only run from the internal SSD or an expansion card made specifically for the Series S/X.
