My Seagate 2tb Hardrive

I got a Seagate 2tb hardrive on chirstmas last year, and it worked fine up until about a month or so ago. I've gone through all the Microsoft steps, got a new cable, and I've gone to YouTube. Nothings worked, but the only thing I havent tried to do is
use a computer to look at the drive. And if this makes a difference, i can still hear the hardrive running and it even makes a boot up sound when I plug it in. It just doesn't show up on the console.

I had this same issue for me it was 100% the cord to my console. That fixed it right away so you may want to try another replacement just to be safe before you totally wipe your hard drive in order to reformat it on your PC. Otherwise you'll have a couple
of hours of redownloading to do when you're done! All the best.

If it's not working on the console then drive has some type of boot sector curruption, it's probably still working though. If you can hear the drive spin up and access the disk, then that's a good sign. But any continuous clicking noises will indicate a
dying hard drive.

Unfortunately there is no way to get the data back from the drive so you'll need to format it.

Plug your drive to a PC running Windows and run 'Disk Management'. The quickest way to get to Disk Management is to right click on the start menu and select it from here.

Hopefully your drive will show up here and Windows will ask you to 'Initialise it'. Once this is done, format the drive. For the Xbox One to see a PC formated drive, the drive must be formatted to NTFS.

With the drive formatted, plug it back to your console and see if the Xbox lets you set it for game storage.

One of the latest updates has brought this issue with it.

An immediate solution is to format the HDD, and yes, I know that this is a sub-optimal solution.

Perhaps you can wait for the next Xbox update and hope that it gets fixed. In the meantime, try to test the HDD in a computer or notebook (or even plugin it directly to a SmartTV to check if it's being detected) and try to access / list any files in it,
just to check that hardware interface is working properly and it's not a data corruption issue.
