My screen keeps flashing black, anyone know why?

Last night I was playing a game, and a few hours into it, my TV screen started turning black, and then my game screen would come back, then black, game screen, black, game screen, etc. Does anyone know why this is happening? I do not think it's my TV,
because it does not happen when my cable or blue ray player are on, only my 360. Next I'm going to try to switch HDMI cables and see if I have a bad cable. But has this happened to anyone else, and if so was the problem the HDMI cable or the game console? Thanks

New system update has messed up my gaming

Just installed it and now my screen keeps flashing black screens and i cant play any games because of the BSOD

Check your visual cables between the console and the tv.

Hi there,

I personally haven't seen this issue befor in the forums.

My advise is to try another HDMI cable, and be sure to check if all other cables are connected correctly to the console/tv by reconnecting them.

If the cable does not help, try another hdmi port on the TV, or even a different TV. This way you will be able to determine what part is causing this issue. The cable, the console or the TV.

That's exactly what the problem was; HDMI cable. I swapped it out with my blu ray and it has worked great ever since.

Hey there, Pema! We are currently still investigating the black screen flashes. The snowy/static screen and HDCP errors were the ones resolved recently. Please keep an eye on that thread for updates on the black screen flashes!

This is EXACTLY how my system is set up. Sound is working perfectly but the video is flashing. Not a constant flash but mainly a black screen then as if the HDR mode keeps resetting, the banner in the upper right corner of the screen signifying hdr has
initialized will get brighter, image that should be showing on screen will appear for a split second and then back to black screen all while the atmos sound never waivers.

Is anyone getting a breaking up flash on the screen when you crash keep getting it. Dont have that on any my other games.
