My power cord is broke I think

My power cord is making a strange noise when i turn on my Xbox 360. It sounds like something inside of it is trying to start up but it isn't. It still powers the Xbox but I have unplugged to keep it from completely breaking. Will it still work if i decide
to keep on playing it in its current condiction or should i send it in for repairs?

In my recent experience with console services the original console is no longer supported at the repair center and do not have spare parts anymore

The power brick has a small fan inside it to keep it cool,sounds like that may be the issue.

I'd get it repaired or get a new one to be honest.Your one will still work but would get very hot & possibly overheat which could be dangerous.

The only thing that I can suggest is performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the
power cord back in and restart the console.

Are you sure it wasn't the headset that broke?

I did that, I even tried several hdmi cords, first and third party video cables and power cables, and hdd on and hdd off

I say the update killed my system because it isnt the first time something broke right after an update

No but my dog did bite a cord for a wired controller and broke it.

My bumper broke after i tripped over my charging cord. Dropped less than half a meter and the bumper broke, lesson is to make sure accidents do not happen. Accidents are our own problem.
