    Help advice please!!

My son downloaded Forza 3 and Recore onto his laptop for xbox windows 10. He was able to play the games for a couple of days with no problems but now all of a sudden it crashes as once he has clicked on it and the splash screen is displayed. Within seconds
it goes back to the desktop screen.

We rang xbox today, the laptop has the requirements to run the game. They checked this too and have suggested updated drivers. We have done this too with no success. I have a frustrated teenager.

Any suggestions as to what we can do to fix it?? All his other games and apps work fine. It's just these xbox games that are the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    Game-breaking Bug

Looks like the recent ReCore update didn't help with our issue. Just to be clear I'm playing a digital download copy of ReCore on my Xbox One.

Mine started doing the same today and given its near unplayable nature on the Xbox One this is not amusing.

I had this same problem and after more than 10 hours with Microsoft Support, 3 tickets, and support trying to get me to delete my gamertag and re-install a perfectly working Windows 10 installation I finally found the solution. For me, I was using the newest
Windows 10 update (OS Version 14393.222, but problem was present before update), Nvidia driver 372.90, and both the original version of ReCore and 10/5 updated version still had the problem. Your issue is that your settings profile saved on the cloud (this
is automatic, nothing you can do about it) is corrupt. If you have Xbox One as well you can verify this by loading the game on there and it will find a corrupted save game. You also probably didn't unlock achievements, but I can't confirm this. You can also
verify this without an Xbox One by making a new gamertag, loading it up, and if ReCore launches to a campaign then that's definitely the issue. To fix this you have to delete the cloud save of your profile, which is no easy task and Windows/Xbox/Microsoft
Support is clueless to help you at any level. Here's how I got rid of it. You have to get on an Xbox One and log into your gamertag. I could find no way to do this on Windows 10. If you don't own an Xbox One, go to a friend's house or somehow get your hands
on one for a few hours. Download ReCore (it will be in your gamertag if you own the Win10 version) and launch it with your gamertag logged in. Start up a new campaign (it will probably not find your save or say it's corrupt, don't worry) and go to the first
checkpoint. Quit to the main menu, don't close the program, and you should see a notice that your cloud save needs to replace a corrupt profile. Even if it doesn't, don't worry, keep going. Once on the main menu, close the program. I would recommend giving
the console about 1 minute to upload your save to the cloud just to play it safe.

At this point you want to go to the "My Games and Apps" app -> Installed Games -> ReCore and hit the menu button to select "Manage Game". Under Manage Game you should see "saved games" and a small save file with your gamertag (about 100-150 KB). If you highlight
that save and hit the menu button you'll see three options and you want to select the one that says "delete everywhere". It will indicate that this will delete all saves for your gamertag on both the console and the cloud, select yes. Give it about 30-60 seconds
and you should see everything disappear.

Now go back to your Windows 10 PC, but don't launch ReCore immediately. Make sure you are logged in with your gamertag in the Xbox app and that it's running. Also go to Settings -> System -> Apps & Features -> ReCore -> Advanced Settings (this is a link
the left of "modify" and "remove") -> and delete profile data (you should see the approx 9GB file and a 100-150 KB profile). Upon doing this the 100-150KB profile data should reduce to 0. Now you can load ReCore. It should detect your gamertag and shouldn't
sync any cloud data (you just deleted it). Next thing you should see is the settings menu again. Congrats, ReCore works again. I pushed support hard but could never get them to tell me how to manage cloud saves or select "delete everywhere" on a Windows 10
PC. Sorry this solution requires an Xbox One, but it does work. Hope this helps. I super aggravated at Microsoft for not knowing this fix and even more baffled by the fact that when I fixed it I was on the phone with support, offered to share the solution,
and they said they would prefer if I went to the forums and handled it myself. Grrr.

If the "delete cloud save" is the only solution, then *** it as I have progressed quite a lot while playing on the Xbox One. From the release day till now, I still can't play the game on PCs. I have two PCs and both would crash out after right before entering
the gameplay from the starting screen (after the Press Enter scene).

Yes, contacting the support is a joke. They don't even know what they are talking about. I don't think they even understand what they are asking you to do. They just read out from some sort of script which they seem to randomly choose to try to resolve your
    problem.

Below is the crash log for the crash. It has been the same log ever since,

Can't seem to edit my post above, so I'm replying to this thread.

Btw, this issue on mine started when I pre-loaded my Windows 10 PC with Recore before release. Then on the release day, I boot up Recore before the day 1 patch got installed. It either quit immediately upon showing the application border, or like now, it
quit after showing my Gamer Tag on the lower left screen of the game. Since then I am not able to play on a PC.

I am able to play on the Xbox One fine. After many attempt to boot up Recore on the PC, the Xbox One version of the game complained about a corrupted save game was found and deleted it. Other than that one time event, game existing save game works fine on
    Xbox One.
