MY Passport WD 4 TB not recognized by Xbox one

Discus and support MY Passport WD 4 TB not recognized by Xbox one in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Got a WD Passport 4TB usb 3.0 for christmas and my xbox one is not recognizing it.     MY Passport WD 4 TB not recognized by Xbox one


    Got a WD Passport 4TB usb 3.0 for christmas and my xbox one is not recognizing it. I reformatted the drive as NTFS and the xbox is not recognizing it. I then went and reformatted it as exFAT and tried with no luck. I was able to see the drive on my windows
    10 machine therefore I know the hardware and the usb cord works. I do not have an update waiting for my xbox either; I am up to date. I do not know what else to do. It is not clear why the xbox is not recognizing it. I was thinking the brand is not compatible
    butall proof seems to be the contrary. ANy ideas guys & gals???

    Last I remember while configuring my external drives, I had to reformat them as NTFS (on Windows 10)
    at least twice before they were detected by the Xbox. It's weird, but it worked.

    Also perform a power cycle your Xbox and try different USB ports as you attempt your connection.

    I would agree if the Xbox one couldn't use an external HDD, but it can, so the 500GB HDD was plenty to begin with. 1 TB xbox ones are also available right now.

    The WD HDD Book version is just as good as the passport, they both use WD HDD drives. Mine has run since the update and works perfect!
