    You must discipline the child.

To be honest, I have friends who play Destiny that have recently moved into the 'needs work' reputation status because they are quite good online and I think they maaay rub it in a little with baggin' and emotes, haha. They have never been suspended though
so it does make me think something else is afoot here.

  2. I am on that site and it does not show me a detailed complaint what shows is the enforcement name and date I see where I can click on stay safe, console check, code of conduct, how do I?,trending news, and yester days news the msg in it self reads enforcement
detail this account engaged in inappropriate communications. This activity may include harassment, abusive language, hate speech, profanity, disruptive or offensive language , and so on so as you can see not exactly telling me what he did and I don't see where
I could check his rep and reports against him.

  5. "Your son must've broken a rule"

I posted about this somewhere, thought here, a few years back. I have a friend that used to game on Xbox Live. The guy was deaf and mute. He never sent messages as he was not much on spelling either. He was banned for a short time. We, my wife and I,
helped him look into it. He was banned for communication. I remember it being about voice communication. And he would absolutely never let anyone else use his account and never did. Honest guy and very nice. Was really odd but you cannot really appeal
these things. Just wait them out. Really bothered him that someone thought he deserved a ban like that and he has not played online since. I used to buy him Live and give him some games, also gave him his Xbox 360, due to him not having much. Try to get
him back online sometimes but he just refuses.

This guy actually received some terrible communications. Some where just very vulgar and mean for not communicating and such. Had some threats as well. Just reported and moved on. What was sad is that many where adults doing that. I know a guy who does
that crap. Has been since the mid-360 years and never a ban.

As for your case. My sons friend was banned. He only had a few games. He was reported and eventually received a short ban. Parents did not let him play much and would always watch when he played. Ban happened and they stop letting him play at all. And
it was a short 1 day ban or something. He was really good too. Only thing I could figure is that he received enough complaints that it triggered something. Of course I pointed this out somewhere before, maybe here or another forum, and am always told it
cannot happen. Considering I know it did and people are not perfect I say it can.

  6. Oh I agree I absolutely know that Xbox got this one all wrong and the worse part about it is we can not do anything about it just take it and move on they have to fix this system .

  7. As one xbox forum insider a few months back put it."You can be banned for anything." and. "They will not reverse a ban."

Thus, getting them to unban a gamer is like getting SCOTUS to reverse their ruling on anything, even when they are wrong.

Sony is just as bad, if not worse!

Sony will ban you for having a hacked PS3, that's about it. So don't buy a used Ps3. Now the forums apparently have no MS staff but the slightest sign of a profanity will give you a %^&*, it's very Disney. It even corrected my disney by putting a capital
D in front. I actually believe you op, I never use a mic on xbl and just have friends as contacts. Microsoft run a pretty good service for us though I kind of wish they'd ease off on the monitoring.

  9. ^ They also ban for real names as happened to one person just a few weeks ago. When he took to the media, they tried to reverse course, but the damage had already been done. Xbox bans for the same reasons, so it will be interesting to see how that insident
    plays out.

Side note: Gaming online used to be fun, but people don't like to lose. As I found out via a PM some yrs ago. When I cked my REP, sure enough. "Unsporting, etc."

A one handed gamer getting bad rep for simply not being able to perform more complex moves using a xbox controller?

These days I am able to laugh it off, but at the time I couldn't. It wasn't so much the gamers, but rather xbox siding with them by allowing such ilk to go through. I havent been in an online session since!

Google Xbox Enforcement, and the first result should link you to their official site where you can do a detailed check of how your rep is shaping on Xbox 1.

Also visit the Xbox toc/code of conduct, and see if he did breach any of the rules. Hardly anyone reads the toc and code of conduct word-for-word. Everyone has the right to question Xbox 1's rep system. A lot of peeps on this forum did there's been several
threads of it. Xbox 1's rep system is different in at least some ways compared to Xbox 360's Rep system. Yes you can change your account privacy settings so that he can only talk to those on his friends list. But having your privacy settings set like that
kind of deprives those from chatting with others on receiving messages and maybe invites from others. Not everyone on Xbox Live is mean. Don't use fowl language, especially in messages because Microsoft can like track that.

  12. If sony or ms was to do anything you'd think it would be hiding the real name, I mean there a certain words that are harmless in most countries that get bleeped out on these forums.

Some clarification on the enforcement site.

Under normal circumstances if you click on "Reputation" (The Green Arc Icon), you will get details on how many reports you've received over the last 6 months.

However, If you have had a case review, you can't access the Reputation page. Must be some kind of bug and needs to be fixed.

  15. If you want more detail fo what your son did. here is some info that can help.

    Case Review

If a player violates the Microsoft Services Agreement or Code of Conduct and receives a suspension, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement Team is committed to ensuring the player understands why. Part of this goal is accomplished through proper notification
and messaging, but in the event a player is still confused about an enforcement or believes it was not warranted, they may reach out to XBLPET directly through the Case Review process.

    What is Case Review?

Case Review is a tool that allows players who have received an enforcement action (for example, an account suspension or forced Gamertag change) to have their enforcement reviewed by a member of the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement Team. Suspensions are never
issued lightly, but Case Review allows Xbox Live members to interact directly with XBLPET and gain greater understanding of the enforcement and why action was taken. In the very rare event that the review determines that a mistake was made or the enforcement
was not necessary, steps will be taken to remedy the situation.

Who can submit a Case Review?

Any Xbox Live member with an active enforcement action may submit a case for review through the account's Enforcement History, provided the enforcement meets the following requirements:

The enforcement's duration is greater than 24 hours in length

The enforcement was issued in the last 12 months

You may only request a review of your own active enforcement actions, and must be signed in to the account that received the enforcement (or signed in to the parent account if a child account was suspended). Prior to submitting a Case Review, you may be
prompted to complete a short questionnaire designed to gauge your understanding of the Code of Conduct. Failure to pass this questionnaire will temporarily prevent you from submitting a review, during which time we recommend familiarizing oneself with the
    Code of Conduct.

Note: Currently, Xbox device bans are not eligible for Case Review.

How do I submit a Case Review?

Submitting a Case Review is easy, and can be accomplished in several steps:

Sign in to enforcement.xbox.com with the account that received the enforcement action and select the large box with an orange hammer icon, or visit your Enforcement History.

Find the enforcement action that you wish to have reviewed, and select Apply for Review.

Read the Case Review Terms of Use and agree by clicking the checkbox and selecting Agree.

If you are already eligible for a Case Review, select the green arrow icon. If you are not yet eligible, you will be presented with a short questionnaire. These questions help gauge your understanding of the Code of Conduct and associated policies. Upon
successful completion of the questionnaire, select the green arrow icon.

Provide any details (up to 500 characters) regarding the enforcement action that may help XBLPET conduct a more complete investigation. This may include context around the activity or content that received enforcement, information about your game activity,
or any other facts that you believe are worth noting. When complete, select Submit.

After submitting, an Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement agent will begin a thorough review of the enforcement action. This includes reviewing available data and re-examining evidence that contributed to the enforcement, taking into account any new details that
    you have provided.

    Case Review status

Over the course of the review, your case may show several different status levels, including:

Submit Case: You are about to submit a case for review. Please make sure to include any relevant information or facts before submitting.

Under Review: Your case is currently under investigation by XBLPET.

Need Info: XBLPET requires additional information from you. Please refer to the enforcement agent’s latest comment and submit additional details to continue the investigation. Note that not every case will require additional information and/or discussion.

Decision: The Case Review has completed. Please refer to the enforcement agent’s comments for additional information.

Summary: The completed outcome of the Case Review, which you may refer to following the case’s closure.

You can check your Case Review status at any time by visiting your Enforcement History or Case Review History.

Note: XBLPET welcomes all Case Review inquiries. However, abusive or belligerent behavior will not be tolerated. When submitting a case for review or replying to a request for additional information, do not abuse or threaten Microsoft employees or post profane,
bigoted, or otherwise provocative content. As with all Xbox Live activities, the guidelines outlined within the Code of Conduct still apply.

Disregard for these rules may result in the closure of your Case Review. Especially egregious violations may result in additional Xbox Live enforcement action.
