My new Xbox Wireless Headset powers up my console. How to change it?

    Hi,

So I have a problem with my new Xbox Wireless Headset. I got it mainly to use with my Win10 laptop, but wanted to check it out with my Xbox Series X. It worked really well, but... When I powered it up in the morning, it powered my console. So I need one of two answers:

    1) either disable this feature that makes mine console power up

    2) completely disconnect the headset from the console

I tried to factory reset the headset, but it didn't do the trick. I do not have an access to another console. both headset and console are updated. Any way to fix it?

    :)

how to connect headphone to xbox one

    Hello,

    Im ,

Please Follow These Steps : The Xbox Wireless Headset pairs with an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One console in the same manner as an Xbox Wireless Controller:

    1. Be sure that both the headset and console are powered on.
    2. Press and hold the green power button on the headset (located on the back of the left earcup) for 4 seconds. You will hear a repeated pairing tone, and the power light on the headset will start flashing.
    3. Press the Pair button  on your console (the same button you use to pair a wireless controller with your console). The power light on the console will start flashing.
    4. When the headset and console connect with each other, the power lights on both devices will stop flashing.
To connect an Xbox Wireless Headset to a Win10, Android, or iOS device using Bluetooth:

    1. Be sure that the headset is powered on.
    2. Press and hold the green power button on the headset (located on the back of the left earcup) for 4 seconds. You will hear a repeated pairing tone, and the power light on the headset will start flashing.
    3. Go to the Bluetooth connections menu on your device and scan for available devices. The headset should appear as Xbox Wireless Headset in the available devices list.
    4. When the headset connects with your device, the power light will stop flashing.

bluetooth headset + gears controller not syncing

Heya! Sorry to hear you are having problems.

To reassign your headset to the appropriate controller simply press the headset’s connect or power button to advance to the position that you want. For example, to change a headset assigned to position 1 to position 3, press the connect or power button twice.

    Xbox One X wireless/headphone problems

Part of the problem maybe interference but you can try

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/stereo-headset-set-up-troubleshoot

and try power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX ONE" animation loading
screen when you power it back up. then check the audio
Ok so I did the troubleshooter to no avail. Also, that little adapter did come with my headset that I trashed. I tried it with and without the adapter on all of my controllers (old, new and wired) and there was still popping. My new headset does not have
this adapter and instead plugs directly into the jack to the left of the controller. This creates popping with the old and new wireless controller. I currently have the headset on, hooked up to my 2-year-old wired afterglow controller and am sitting at the
title screen of Star Wars Battlefront. There isnt any popping at all (figured I'd use the loud and dramatic music as a stress test). Obviously I'm glad it works but I'd still like to know why it only happens on my wireless controllers.. also they are updated
    to the current firmware version.
