    I have gone over all troubleshooting procedures offered, from checking batteries to using a different controller to test, to using both another PC and an xbox one console. The dongle seems to have kicked the bucket, when plugged in, my PC says "the USB device is not recognized"

    I attempted to schedule a service, but in doing so, the return instructions tell me to only send the controller, and not the accessories. As the controller works fine (I have tested this by plugging it in wired) this wouldn't fix my problem. I attempted to contact support, and their phone agent advised me to just "buy a new dongle." Except the website doesn't sell them.

    Are the dongles really not covered under the controllers warranty?

    depends which country you are in, if the UK it has a full year manufacturing warranty, after that you can go down the consumer rights act route.

    Bluetooth won't allow for wireless headsets like you think. I have a PS4 which has bluetooth and my wireless headset for it requires the USB dongle with it and a cable that goes from the USB dongle to the optical out port on it. (turtle beach 500p) I have
    a wireless one for my X1 as well (afterglow AG9) and it just has the USB dongle.

    I think the specifics of the question aren't about using mouse and keyboard, but rather if you can use a keyboard and mouse that operate via a wireless dongle.

    That is, plug dongle into Xbox, then mouse and keyboard comme t to dongle, wirelessly.

    I'm not sure that this works, though.

    Upon looking at support site, which specifically states WIRED USB keyboard and mouse, so I'm unsure

    EDIT: , there may in fact be models supported by console that are wireless, but not just any wireless keyboard will function so check first

    i might be wrong but i think they might be on about the slim with its own built in wireless adapter where as the old xboxs you had to buy the dongle for wireless internet access. where as the slim comes with it own built in dongle which is the new n connection
    which streams faster compared to the older one i think this is what they are on about as there is no xbox 360 which comes with access to browse the web like internet explore so i would say they are on about the he built in wireless dongle built in the new
