    Thanks for the reply. Answering your questions: Its a Seeagate 4TB (xbox green) external hard drive. Yes, i actually tried this in all 3 of the available usb ports on the xbox one. Futhernore, i even tried every step offered by the xbox “troubleshooting”
    option. No luck. This is a pre-owned unit I purchases at a Game Stop store. I think I’m going to take it back and exchange for a brand new 2 TB unit. Thanks again for the help, I hope tou have a great new year.

    What brand of external USB HDD is it? Is it a USB 3.0 HDD? Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port on the console?

    Make sure that the USB cable is securely and properly attached at both HDD and console end. If the drive has an external power brick, try unplugging it and re-plugging it into the power outlet while the HDD is attached to the console.

    I am having trouble with my external hard drive on my xbox one and ever since that new update my xbox one wont recognize that my external hard drive is plugged in I have tried the trouble shooting steps and nothing seems to work and my external hard drive
    is a 3.0 Toshiba external drive is this problem going to be fixed before its released to the general public because I want to play my games that are saved to that drive can anyone tell me if this problem is even being looked into at all
