My name has hashtags and i don't know how to remove them

The new gamertag system adds a hashtag and numbers at the end if the gamertag you want is already owned by someone else (so that more than one person can have the same gamertag) so the only way to get rid of the numbers at the end is to change your gamertag to one that no one else owns.

You need tp come up with a unique name.then

Any mixture of not commonly used names or numbers will be unique

I don't know how the hashtags are handled so I don't know if they were approved by Microsoft or not. If you see them on a post, report them.

First and foremost you should have changed the name you wanted first

To something else then randomly check once awhile if ita free it will tell you if you will get a hashtag

But the problem is you can't remove the hashtag without changing to something completely different first then changing back

Forget the classic gamertag thing that has not how it works

Classic gamertag is how your gamertag appears in older games so if you are Timothy#1919

It will be timothy1919

What you guys aren't realizing is its only the Timothy part that is customizable that's it you can't make the hashtag invisible

Basically what your attempting is impossible and a misunderstanding how it works

Unknown11 will never occur as it already exists and you can't break the system to make your gamertag pretty

It will be unkmown0000 aa your hashtag by example is 0000 you can't get rid of that unless you have a truly unique name

ALL names must be unique

You can't select an classic gamertag that is taken and the hashtag isn't removable unless ita a unique name
