My monitor won't play sound from my Xbox

I bought a brand new monitor to use with my Xbox and it has built in speakers but for whatever reason it won't play sound. I've tried going into the audio settings, trying to fix it but to no avail. What do I do?

    :)

my external speakers won't play sound on my new monitor?

Hi Edwin, my name is Oskayra and I will be happy to help you.

It is possible that your monitors are not configured to play sound through external speakers.

To check the sound settings of your monitor, please follow these steps:

    Open the monitor's setup menu.
    Find the sound section.
Make sure the external speakers are selected as the audio output.

    Best regards, Oskayra

I have a MSI G241 monitor, a Xbox one X, and a LG Z407 Speaker. I have the speaker plugged into my monitor and HDMI for my Xbox. But the speaker isn’t playing any sound. How can I fix this?

I bought an eARC HDMI, hopefully it’ll work and I’ll be able to hear the audio through my speakers. Right now I have the speakers plugged into my monitor with a audio jack and HDMI connecting my Xbox and monitor and no sound is playing.

hi i got the new xbox one 1 s and i dont have hdmi plug in. in my tv so what do i do

What I can think about, are the following options :

    a) Get a new TV - and if you want to take advantage of the xbox one s, get a 4k tv that supports HDR10.

    b) If you have a monitor that has DVI, get an adapter that goes from HDMI to DVI or a cable with these same ends. I had to do this with my PS3 when I didn't have a TV, and my only option was a 19" Monitor. Although, you won't have any sound, but you could
use a headset from your controller.

    c) If you have your xbox one in your network, and have a computer with windows 10, use the remote play function (previously configured)
