My Minecraft world crashed after the power went out, and now it’s stuck on building...

Mine is even worse. In my first world after about 20 hours of building we went to the Nether. I saved when we got down there, and when we went to load the game the next day the world is nothing but a flat bedrock and a red sky. I can't kill myself, build,
or do anything. My friends can still play and go to the Overworld, but I'm stuck down there. So that world was written off as corrupt in my books.

Sorry to hear that, even if after copying the world the issue persists... it seems that due to the unexpected console shutdown the world is corrupted now :c

If that's the case I can advise you try backing up your worlds from time to time to avoid a similar situation in the future

My son wanted to connect with his friends in Minecraft PE on his iPad, so we went through the process of creating a Live account for him, which we added as a child account to my account.

(Then the app told him that his privacy settings needed to be updated to be able to add friends, which we subsequently also did.)

Then the app crashed. Now, on relaunch, it crashes on startup. Every time.

How can we fix this? My son has put in hundreds of hours building worlds in this app, and now he can no longer access them.

Minecraft still crashes. I've hard reset my xbox and even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The weirdest part is that although the game crashes when I try to enter or create a world. I can still go on servers.

Hey there! So the beta version available through the Xbox Insiders Program is very liable to crash. The best thing to do if you are running and experiencing stability issues (something that is lined up in the FAQ about that version in the XIP app) would
be to fill out a ticket/feedback/report in the app or directly on Minecraft's website. When you load up the game and see that world pay close attention to the file size, in my experience with that in-progress-build of Minecraft world saves over or around 150
to 200 mbs (megabytes) tend to crash. Naturally the problem will ride itself out whenever the game updates or there is an update to the build being ran. Don't try and de-enroll that world/game version out of the beta as any worlds running beta content (for
example yours since you moved it up) wouldn't be playable until the next update. I would just keep trying and send in a support ticket where appropriate.
