    I am posting this because I have actually found the solution to this.!! I have searched everywhere for the answer to this problem and have come across several post asking the same question although no one has been able to provide an answer until now. I have been able to reproduce this glitch one time out of multiple tries. For some reason a rare glitch occurs between the steel series headset and the user profiles.

    1. The first thing I did was download a free mic tester from the Microsoft store.
    2. After running the app and confirming that indeed my microphone was working I proceeded to go through setting on my Xbox s. I won't even tell you how long it took but it was and while.
    Answer:

    Only after I change the two mic settings to ALLOWED that my head set Mic began to work properly!

    Under settings/ accounts/ privacy & online safety/ you will see four privacy & online safety profiles, teen and child both have their microphones blocked by going into these two profiles and unrestricting the microphone from those profiles will enable your software to work properly in the custom and adult profiles.



    I was able to reproduce this because I had a friend who was unfortunate enough to have the same problem. By following the steps above he was able to confirm my solution, I can't say this is the solution for everyone but I hope this helps.

    It is here that you will find the four profiles that I was talking about.

    I also wanted to update that if the mic is not plugged in and on when you turn on your wireless headset you may have to repeat this process. I know I have had to repeat this process three times now. It is a glitch in the Microsoft software, if your mic is off and unplugged when you register your headset (AKA turning it on) for some reason it sends your mic channel to a blocked channel. On the plus side it is quite easily fixable.

    Sorry to hear about the headset issue! Looking at SteelSeries' product page for the

    Siberia V2 Headset    , it unfortunately looks like it is not compatible with the Xbox One console. You can refer to

    SteelSeries' Headset Platform Compatibility Matrix     for a list of all of the headsets SteelSeries' has that work with the Xbox One console. Hope that helps!

    Headset Fix For Xbox one

    I have a weird chat solution that works with my tangos.

    I use the optical output from my television to the tango reciever I wear the xbox one head set aroungpd my neck and put the tango mike next to the earpiece.

    I hear chat thru the tangos and talk thru thr xbox mike. Looks silly but work really good.

    I still cannot believe they supplied us with cheap crappy headset that is worse than the original 360 headset.
