My microsoft account thinks I'm in india when I try to redeem something even though when I check the region it clearly says my home country which isn't India like when I go to redeem on Microsoft redeem it says my home country but when I try to redeem on Xbox.com it says I'm in India what should I do to fix this, I tried VPN changing the country details on the account on the redeem Microsoft site but not it's adamant on me being from India

If you are trying to use a VPN to bypass location or region codes, it will no longer work in some regions and your account will be locked for 90 days with an incorrect region error or storage error every time you "travel" with your VPN. This lock cannot be unlocked manually and will be automatically unlocked after the period.

try these other steps.

1. Check for Windows updates:

Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

If an update is available, install it immediately.

2. Repair the Xbox app:

Open Settings on your laptop.

Go to Apps and Features.

Look for Xbox in the list of installed apps.

Click the Xbox app and select Advanced options.

Click the Repair button to fix any issues with the app without losing data.

3. Reinstall the Xbox app:

If repairing doesn't work, uninstall the Xbox app completely:

In the Microsoft Store, search for Xbox.

Click the Xbox app and select Uninstall.

After uninstalling, reinstall the Xbox app from the Microsoft Store.
