    My Microsoft account balance goes to 0, failed to find any departments who are responsible


    I have no idea why, I contacted customer service, they told me my balance was redeemed by gift cards, and once they become balance, it expires. I ask them where does it say gift card balance expire, they refused to respond. I submit my complaint for my money on BBB, Microsoft refused to reply to BBB request for an answer.

    It's been over 3 weeks now. At this stage, I am not sure what else I can do, am I out of means, other than maybe talk to a media outlet and expose their behavior. I am shocked Microsoft is allowed to steal customer's money like this without any proper regulation. And have the guts to ignore BBB's investigation request. That was beyond my wildest dream to be honest.

    From my understanding, this depends on where the gift cards come from. If they have been purchased from a store (physical or digital), then the codes do not generally expire and will stay on the account for as long as the account is open for. If the codes came from promotions, or through the Microsoft rewards program, then they may expire. This will be outlined in the terms of use for the code.

    The Better Business Bureau is not a government agency. They are a private company that sells stickers. They mean absolutely nothing, and have zero power

    There is currently issues with gift card redemption and account balance, if you contact support they would be able to help you with this further

    Thanks for the response. I didn't know rewards expire after 90 days.

    I haven't made any purchases since it was issued - it is actually the last transaction in my account- and it has been less than 90 days since it was "refunded" to my account, yest my Microsoft account balance is $0

    Is there somewhere else I should look?
