My mic works, but no one in my party can hear me.

This is quite hard to explain for me, since I'm not very good at explaining things.

So a few days ago, my controller did something weird and the headset made a weird buzzing noise, and I couldn't use the controller. So, I decided to switch out the batteries and for some reason, I couldn't talk to people, they couldn't hear me. But i turned
on mic monitoring and it showed that my mic still worked. Does anyone have a solution for this, other than buying a new controller?

Mic/party not working

My xbox mic or party system isn't working. when i join a party no one can hear me but i can hear everyone else. please help

 

Party Chat - I can hear my freinds but they can't hear me - Kinect still works with party

I have the same issue. My kinetic works fine and I can hear everyone in the party but no one can hear me. Whether I speak through the connect mic or a mic i plug in. It worked fine the day before now this.

I am having the same problem. I was playing Forza Horizon 3 and "bam" out of nowhere no one could hear me. I tried hard resetting the console, nothing. I power cycled the console, nothing. I tried to plug it in to a new outlet in the wall for ample power,
nothing. I tried 3 new mics, nothing. I am using a elite controller, tried using a different controller, nothing. My brother can use both of my controllers, and all three of my mics, and they all work fine. Really the only thing I didn't do was buy another
console. Before any Microsoft employees come here and ask me about my NAT type, and the mute button being on, no, my NAT is OPEN, and my MUTE BUTTON is off. Also, all of my settings are set to the lowest privacy, everything is allowed on my console, and I
even went as far as to call my ISP to make sure my speeds were what they should be. But, no, no avail. So please Microsoft, tell me why me and this man can not talk in a party chat. Surely it isn't a hardware problem.

 

Oh man, I thought it was the controllers fault. The bad thing is the headset has a 3.5mm jack and I only have one controller that has support for that. All of my other ones are the older controllers so I'm having my friend bring me a controller to see if
it works. If it doesn't, I don't know what else to do.

 

Can't be that as I use a standard Headset and Elite controller.

 

I'm not sure, but the controller my friend brought works.

 

I turned my xbox one off then got back on 2 hours later and my friend invited me to a party and it said that my headset was plugged in and no one could here me

Same man. I'm really concerned I DO NOT want to buy a new console, and/or send the console to microsoft to be fixed and have the same issue. I really believe it has to do with the software. Wish microsoft would give an answer. If you find a fix let us know.

 

Just factory reset and nothing.

 

this just happened to me last week in a party mid chat while playing Destiny it just cut out

i can hear others but the headset wont pick up my chat ive tried everything new headset and controller made sure my network had open NAT open all ports even tried on my friends network and still nothing. this is where customer support chat directed me too

this can actually be a plug and play lead problem!! try taking the battery out of the controller and headset plug controller into the lead then connect to your xbox! then plug the headset in! then while the controller is still connected to the lead and xbox
put the battery back in hope this helps

 

Make sure your NAT is either Moderate or Open. Wire directly into your modem if possible. Also, depending on your ISP, your modem settings may need to be tweaked... Like, bridging your modem if your using a third party wireless router through a Docsis
3 capable modem with an internal wireless 2.5Ghz/5Ghz router.
