My mic just stopped working out of nowhere! please help

Well I too just got the problem where out of nowhere my mic suddently stopped registering sound, I can hear other people but my mic doesnt work and i am pretty sure the headset is ok, this started happening after I tried the appear offline function on the
xbox one

For the last 3 days or so, my 10 yo said his mic was not working and that he could only hear his friends and not talk to them. I bought a new mic and it still has the same problems. This is really annoying. There has to be a fix out there as it just stopped
out of the blue. System and controllers are up to date.

Please help

I think its a problem with the controller. i have tried the headset on my old controller and it works fine. I have heard there is some issues with a piece of hardware the headphone jack where, due to bad design, Microsoft didn't connect it to the motherboard
and just left to stay under constant pressure. Many people have had it just slip out of place and the mic can just stop. I've had no issues with this controller and it came out of nowhere.
