My Mic doesn’t work

I got a new headset with a mic and it has not worked at all since i got it, i can hear friends but never say anything in return through the mic, I’ve looked for many ways to fixing it, like updating the controller, checking the accessories, formats for the
headset and more, and nothing has fixed the issue.

Here is a couple things to troubleshoot and check first:

• Check that your privacy settings allow you to communicate with everyone.
• Unmute or unblock the person you’re trying to chat with.
• Check that you’ve joined party chat from within the party window.
• Check for network latency or other network issues.

It happens on both party in game and xbox parties, since I have the instructions for the headset, the information given seems ro be a pdp lvl 3 stereo gaming headset, I’ve checked privacy settings and all seems to be fine, the people I try to communicate
with are not blocked at all, I can see that I’ve joined the party for sure as well...

I don’t have a pc nor another xbox I can test the headset on, I have tried other factors such as controllers, xbox accounts, and checked the adapter.

Lets start with checking the controllers that you have are all caught up on any firmware updates and confirming that you are using a compatible controller. Also check this with new batteries to eliminate another thing it could be. If you have a headset adapter
make sure that is plugged into the controller before you push an update. Its also worth checking if you have an adapter that the adapter is not muted, as well as the headset is not muted on the cord.

If all of that matches try going to your settings -> power settings -> and if instant on is on then change it to energy-saving. Reboot the xbox and check your mic. This worked for me with some issues i had with a different headset and I was able to turn instant
on back on shortly after without issue.

As a third way of troubleshooting if these first 2 options didn't work, lets try clearing your cache.

Then press and hold your xbox power button on the console until it turns off completely. Unplug your power from the back as well as the power brick from the wall. Wait a few
minutes before hooking back up.

Does your headset function properly on PC, some headset may work on a PC but not xbox, but if it does not work on PC either then it is your headset.

If you can try this on another xbox, if it works there it may either be the jack on the controller or a setting on the xbox
