My mic does not pick up sound when plugged into my controller

I had this problem before it was my controller I used it so much that the ports would wiggle around and would say I had a mix plugged in.

As well as above suggestion by XBF Brad A try
Setting up a headset adapter. This helps if the 3.5mm socket is faulty on the controller and
also Update your controller firmware

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issue with your mic. Have you tried the mic on your phone or other device and does it work? On the home screen of the console in top right corner is there a line through the mic symbol? It is possible
the mic is no longer working correctly. Personally had this happen on one of mine heard everything but mic stopped working. Try these and let us know.

Yes. I tried my headset in my phone. Sound is clear and my mic works. But when plugged into controller its like my controller does not recognize it's plugged in. My controller has fresh batteries and is up to date. It worked fine Wednesday. But when i played
Thursday it didn't work at all.

My controller started having the same issues within the past week. Mine's not elite, and it is a few years old, but suddenly out of the blue my mic quit working. I still get sound through the headset, the mic just doesn't get picked up by my xbox.

I've got a Recon 50X that's also almost a year old. It works just fine when I plug it into anything else.
