My menu and Game audio are not working for my headset. Xbox One

I'm on a Hyper X Cloud Core Headset, and recently the right side stopped working. Well, I'm fine with playing with one ear for a while, so fine. But after about an hour of playing with just the left ear, I began to not receive audio at all from my games
and menu. I can still hear the party and my friends just fine, but the game and menu audio don't work. I have done all sorts of troubleshooting, I've scoured the internet.I just don't understand why I can only hear party audio. I've hard reset, I've updated
and to no avail. Please send help my way. It really makes the gaming experience less fun when I can't hear audio through my headset. Thank you.

    :)

  2. xbox one controller

My xbox one controllers aren't working with either of my headsets. The headsets work on other devices and the controller works on other games. Just not working together. I've tried shutting down the console, making sure the volume is correct , checked
the audio on the xbox. Nothing is working.

  3. Audio on Apps Not Working

My audio is not working on the apps for my XBOX One. Audio is working great for games, downloaded games and DVDs. Support is not helping. Any ideas out there?

Have you tested the headset on another device? If I recall correctly that model works on just about anything. If the issue persists on other devices it could be a failing headset.

Indeed I have. I've used it on my phone and PC. Both time the right side was still out.

In that case I'd suggest that the headset is broken (probably a broken lead in the cable) that causes the right side to fail.

Depending on the type of damage to the cable, the broken lead can cause a higher resistance causing (slight) heat, and the material expanding a bit, affecting other wires.

From the HyperX website, it seems that the plug of the headset has the cable coming out straight from the plug. From my personal experience, when holding the controller comfortably while sitting relaxed in a "laid back" position, the headset cable is "bent"
from the controller resting against your lower body. This causes the cable to break.

I switched to a Plantronics RIG 400HX that has a 90° angled plug, that lets me point the cable plug "upwards", so the cable is not bent when I rest the controller on my belly, and since then I had no issues with crackling or non working headsets.

    Xbox One S - 1st gen controller - Headset/adapter not working

Which adaptor do you have? The official Xbox adaptor, or the Turtle Beach adaptor?

Both work in a similar way, but control slightly differently. Both of them work via the physical buttons, the headset audio menu only opens if you plug a headset directly into one of the Xbox One controllers with a 3.5mm audio port.

Here is how I understand the whole headset compatability works (maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong):

    GAME AUDIO

If your headset gets the game audio via a box linked to your gaming machine via optic audio out - this audio will continue to work as designed, as the xbox One has optic out as well.

    CHAT AUDIO

If your headset gets the chat audio via a direct bluetooth wireless link to the xbox360 machine - then this headset will not work with chat audio on the xbox One.

If your headset gets the chat audio wireless via a bluetooth puck that plugs into the 360 controller (not a direct wireless link to the gaming machine) -then this may work with the xbox One depending on how the forthcoming adapter works with next gen controllers.

If your headset gets the chat audio via a cable directly connected to your xbox360 controller - then this may work on the xbox One depending on how the upcoming adapter works with the xbox One controller.
