My machine doesn't let me play disks offline.

I did make console my home xboxone console. Also selected offline in network. Still can't play disc games. Keeps asking to sign in to xboxone live.

Your wording os a little confusing. Are you asking:

1- Why you cant just play a particular game with just the disc without downloading anything

2- How to go offline

It feels youre asking #1. I’m sorry but many games don’t fit on a disc, or are otherwise unable to include a standalone product on thr disc for a variety of reasons. I’m afraid patches, upgrades etc are a fact of modern gaming, whichever platform you play

His wording looks fine. Batdad has the proper answer for his issue. The only time the console needs to be online to play with any compatible disk is on original setup of the xbox. To play digital games offline then the xbox needs to be set as the home console.
Then the console needs to be put into offline mode so it doesnt connect to live. I hope this clears everything up for everyone.

Have you set this console to be your home console? If not, you will be just like me...only able to play while online. I had to set my son's console to the home console for him to have access to the game library, and now, anytime we dont have internet,
I cant use my Xbox One X. It is a shame that MS set up the system this way, and it will likely stop me from buying consoles in the future if they dont remedy this, but it is the way it is now and one of the things I hate most about the last, the current, and
the next generation of gaming. I can build pc's far superior to a console, and share my entire library of games and movies across them even on other properties I own in a different state if I wish, and I have no hassle and can do far more with the systems.
Not to mention, I can fix anything that goes wrong with them, whereas a console has to be shipped off. Have a made a good argument for leaving consoles behind if this doesnt get remedied going forward? I think I have. I feel your pain. Maybe you should lend

I did what microsoft said to do. Make my xboxone my home console and set it to offline. Can' t find any help online. Asks me to sign in to xboxlive for disc games I purchased. Downloaded games work fine.

Happens on disc games. Downloaded games purchased on store work without asking me to sign in.
